The Millers Have Some Damage Control to Do

in the Boise-Nampa area. The former owners of the Stampede are telling anyone who will listen that the Jazz did not live up to their end of the bargain after the sale took place. This is no big deal for the basketball side of things but might really be a big deal for the LHM auto dealerships as there are several in the Valley here. If these guys are going around the community talking about how the Millers punked Boise, there might be a slippage in car sales from those LHM lots.

People really don't make car buying decisions based on this type of stuff. If LHM Toyota in SLC offered me a car that costs $1,000 more than Kobe's Lakerland Toyota I'm buying from Kobe... I will make sure I get those floormats and keychains doe!

What was the deal? Keep the team in Boise?

I think most people are overwhelmed by the process. I think people go to a dealer that they think is reputable(they usually get screwed anyway). I think if the Jazz were to be sold LHM would take a hit in Utah. Still I don't see how a D-league team could have an impact. They couldn't fill a small stadium. Clearly not many people cared like homeytennis does. If the Millers were to relocate the Boise St Broncos then yeah maybe they would take a hit.

Probably right... I've bought three cars from the same dealership because I know they give good deals and I'm familiar with them.

I think it's sour grapes by the old ownership group. Nothing more. Minor league franchises move and fold all the time. The Tulsa and Albequerque DLeague teams are examples.

How many people were attending Stampede games?

Exactly. Can't be more than a handful of people that went or are disappointed about this. I'm actually moving to Boise later this year and I wasn't planning on going to a Stampede game, haha.

Exactly, it's not like the Sonics were in Boise and moved to Salt Lake. Homey could probably nae the people that attended every stampede game, and most of them were probably scouts.

Attendance issues could have EASILY been fixed by drafting Fredette instead of Ayres. Seriously, you have the #1 pick in the entire draft and you take Ayres??? Why?
Clearly, DL owed Jeff something from his SA days. Or Ayres had pics of a naked, drunken DL laying behind a pillow fort.

IF the Millers sold the Jazz and they moved out of state it would no doubt hurt the dealership business here. If I wanted to buy a Toyota would I go to the dealership that sold the Jazz and let them move or the dealership who didn't? I would be pretty damn bitter and wouldn't buy any cars from an LHM dealership for sure. I've always thought if the Millers wanted to actually sell the team they'd have to do it very strategically and sell it to a company they know would keep them here in Utah.

End my hypothetical rant :) I'll want to read more details on this D-league situation before judging...

I'm with ya

Gee Thanks Homey...I'm not going to be able to sleep at night now with this horrific news weighing on my conscience.

I don't know if they still do it a lot, but back in the day they used to routinely give you Jazz tickets when you bought a car from them.

But would you be similarly outraged if the Millers sold the flash out from under the community of lehi?

Wait, didn't that already happen?
