Burks likely done for season?

As long as the player and the organization are comfortable with how it is being managed that is all that matters.

The player, alec Burks, wants to play according to reports.
I can't believe I just thought of this angle. I wonder what the insurance policy is on Burks? Maybe at this point holding him out a few more games is worth millions. Given how conservatively everything else has been played, this honestly wouldn't surprise me.

If an insured player is disabled, there is a 41 game waiting period, after which the insurance company pays 80% of the guaranteed portion of the player's remaining base salary, up to $175,000 per regular season game. The waiting period can span seasons, and the player even can attempt to come back -- if he does and finds that he is unable to play, the 41-game count resumes (as long as he stopped playing due to the same injury).

After his 41st missed game the insurance company starts picking up 80% of the tab... Burks has missed 49... His per game salary is roughly $115,000. For each game the Jazz would save roughly $92,000 if I am reading things correctly. Jazz save another $500k if Burks doesn't play... already saved roughly $700k. Keep getting dem checks!
Boom goes the dynamite!

Respect to AB, you know he's working his *** off to get back onto the court and no one wants him to get back as bad as he does.

So, does this mean the Jazz are keeping him out to save money? What a bunch of crap. Well, from the last tweet I saw from Andy Larsen, the story that he is done for the season is bogus. So, I hope they will activate him against the Clips -- wouldn't that be ironic. The team that caused his injury.

Burks was wearing some slick red dress pants last night. That's mafia **** right there. I couldn't see his shoes, but I guarantee they were Italian loafers.

More proof.

Yeah not buying that bs at all.

I deal with a lot of rich dudes... Not saying Miller is driving this and telling the staff to hold him out, but if he comes back and plays 10 minutes and isn't much better than CJ it costs him $100k. Rich dudes care about that... I'm convinced it is at least a factor. You telling me if he plays tomorrow or next week that his body is so much stronger than it was a few days ago and now he can avoid other injuries?

The Jazz are disrespectful towards the fans not making official statements concerning the recovery time.

Burks is ready to play, I don't understand their approach. If it were only for chemistry reasons, it would be scandalous!
