I think you've got to weigh up, is your "Love for the Jazz" greater than your "Hate for the Lakers"????
For me my love for the Jazz is greater... therefore I would rather get a better draft prospect that will stay with our team for years and years to come, than just worry about 1 last Kobe game which will be meaningless and people will forget about in the next 2-3 months.
1 or 2 picks higher has little to no chance of being a better player. Its a crap shoot whether that player will be decent or not. Look at Gobert and Hood or Lyles. They are going to be players that should have been taken higher than many players. Also Kobe will remember and many others including me will remember the Jazz beating Kobe in his final game for more than a month or two. Also playing to win is more important to players than draft picks and says more about where this team is going. If we wanted a higher draft pick we should have kept Favors, Hayward and Gobert out much longer this season to recover. When you Love your team you dont actively cheer for them to lose in a game that wont gain them anything. The pick position is not going to matter.
My love of the Jazz is watching them win especially against one player and a team that has crushed us time and time again. The very least we could do is get a final win so we arent remembered as the gum that got stuck to Kobe's shoe.
