Stupid Trade Idea

JJ Redick
2017 1st round pick from the Bucks (top 14 protected)

For

Alec Burks

Pros: Redick brings great shooting, spaces the floor, and plays better team defense than Burks, 2017 draft will be awesome, Redick brings a good veteran presence with playoff experience which we need

Cons: Redick only has one year left on his contract, he's older, can't create offense as well for himself, are we getting enough value for Burks?

Am I overvaluing Burks and his contract? Undervaluing him? Would the Clippers do this? I love the idea of Redick on this team, as I feel he has the type of game where getting older won't hurt him as much. But the length of contracts for both players makes me feel like I'm undervaluing Burks, even though I think Redick is a better player on this team.

So, would you do this?

I probably would.
Redick would offer great leadership, spacing, and on court IQ.

None of which Burks has, imo.

I'd like the Clips to sweeten it a bit further with some cash, or a second round pick as well, but I'm with the good Doc. I like Reddick. I feel like he'd be an improvement over Ingles, but not sure he'd play as well with Exum as Ingles.

I'd do it in a millisecond. I don't think the Clippers would trade Redick for Burks straight up, though.

You think the Clippers would give up a starter and a first round pick for a youngster who is talented and has promise but also has injury issues? Swear some of you play to much NBA2K16. lol
To get JJ you would have to give up Burke and a draft pick.

You feel like he be an improvement over Ingles?LOL Come on are you from Aussie of Ingles woman or family or something? Everyonbe in the NBA knows he is a major upgrade over Ingles . Also talking about how well he plays with EXUM is a reason to keep him. Ingles is a reserve. one who doesn't get much tick. JJ is a starter for a playoff team. Your reply is just so funny on so many levels. So you an Aussie right?

has Alec ever had a big game against Doc?

This will determine if this trade goes through or not.

No way the Clippers would give us JJ Redick for Trey Burke and draft pick. Are you high?

I would probably do it but be very concerned about reddicks age and contract length and I would worry that I might have made a big mistake.

I like both players a lot.

Clippers would laugh and hang up ... This is ludicrous to think Burka gets you Reddick let alone a first rounder as well. It'd be an absolute steal for us.

The Clippers are the team that would be asking for a 1st rd pick along with the player, not the other way around. I would love to see Redick on this team though.

I'm looking for feedback:

Milwaukee 2017 1sr
JJ Redick

for

Alec Burks
Utah 2016 1st (12th)

Is that something that the Clippers would consider doing? Is that something the Jazz would consider doing?

I think that the Jazz would do this.

Gives them a vet with extensive playoff experience on a team badly needing it.

Gives Utah 3 2017 1st rounders (solid trade chips to move up in that draft or for another trade to take even the next playoff step)

Career 41% 3 point shooter, another area of need.

My first question is what does his contact look like?

$7.3 million next season then he is an UFA.

The reason I added the pick is bc Burks has a couple years left on a cheap contract and he's 24, Redick only has a year left, so it could be a rental. Most players with a year left on their contract don't bring in a big haul.
