Yurt's were Turkic/Mongolian tents that were made from mainly animal pelts. Turks came to Anatolia by the grand immigration from Asian steps. But some stayed. Yurt is one of the most symbolic things in the antic Shamanist Turkic culture.
It's pronounced "yoort" not "yört" or like "yert". u is pronounced like the double o in "cool".
