Jazz to do Arena upgrades

Changing the arena name would be a upgrade. Do the Vivint salesman come to games and hand out flat brimmed hats that say 'Douche' on the front?
 
Gateway is picking up with the new ownership and I know they are investing a lot into improving it. There are a lot of business around that area that are popping up that are nice. I also know they are planning to develop that train station area. Jazz should invest money into helping moving the homeless shelter somewhere else. I know they are building new facilities and separating out women/children and families from the general population. That would make that area nice. Then add a little face lift outside and add a few cool things inside such as better bars/eating areas. The new screens make the arena feel a lot nicer inside. Maybe they should redo the seats and signs to look nicer as well.

I'm all for them separating women, children, and young adults from the adult male population but I think the emergency men's shelter should stay there. Simply moving the shelter doesn't solve any problems it just imposes the burden on property owners that bought their property unknowing that the shelter was going to be put nearby. That shelter was there long before the Gateway. I don't like the idea of the politically powerful pushing it out of "site" out of mind. If it stays there initiatives like housing first, better mental health services, and addiction rehabilitation are more likely to continue to be be funded and improved. Move it and the problem will be ignored for another 30 years.

Forgive me, I must have glossed over this comment and I just need some clarification. Are you insinuating that your complaints reached DL directly, which led him to reach out to Monson in an effort to have him write a spin article?

I agree with a lot of that but I dont see the problems getting solved any time soon. Until citizens and the government change their stance on drugs we are going to have issues. Drugs need to be decriminalized and we need programs to encourage and help people get off them instead of imprisoning them for addictions or leaving them relegated to homelessness. Heroin and meth would disappear from society if we decriminalized drugs. If there are going to be dangerous homeless people I would rather them not be downtown near businesses and main transportation areas. Put them in an area with nothing around. Keep the womens and children in the downtown area where help can be provided for those it will make a difference for.

Spend money on players. Then the arena will feel "new" again because Jazz will be a winning team.
Seriously, though, replace the food vendors. The WORST hot dogs and nachos I've ever had was at a Jazz game. Stale buns, half-rancid chips and a dog that had been over crooked into a shriveled mass of unchewable leather.
 
Let's change the chair color from radioactive green to hazmat orange.

If all drugs are decriminalized (keep in mind I am not saying legalized) then the options for other drugs that are less dangerous and addictive would wipe those out, especially meth. Additionally addicts would seek help and be allowed help without being thrown in jail or given fines. If you actually want to read about a country that has done it look at Portugal and what they have done. Their policies have reduced heroin users drastically and the few that are left are generally known to the government and they are in treatments or getting help in some way.
 
Should change up the lighting. I like the way the Lakers/Knicks have in their arena. Focuses your attention solely on the court.
