Have a better record than the Jazz. I now realize how bad this season is.... I think I've been in denial....if we go under .500 I'm gonna be on suicide watch.

the friggin sixers actually play some defense under doug collins. at one point i would have liked collins to take over for sloan once he retired.

Seriously, why would you need to go on suicide watch? Is anyone else on this board excited for the future of this team? This team is getting rebuilt properly and ya know what, we are not making the playoffs this year. Not happening. This my friends is a good thing. The jazz have a nice base of players in favors, Hayward, Harris and Jefferson, a great trading chip and milsap and three lottery picks I the next two years. Things may suck now, but get amped for the future because it's looking bright!

I agree. And why would anyone want the Jazz to make the playoffs this year anyways? Remember, we needed overtime to beat the freakin Sacramento Kings ON OUR HOME FLOOR. Can you imagine what will happen when we have to play an elite team like the Spurs, Mavs, or Lakers in the first round?...trust me, it won't be pretty.

Call me old fashion, but I want playoffs.

So what? The Miami Heat have lost 5 in a row right now as well. Woopedyfreakingdoo!!! Our whole season and expectations changed once Sloan and Johnson retired and Deron was shipped out of town.

It's all about the future now and the Jazz have a pretty bright one.

As much as I like the new energy, and breath of fresh air, losing is probably the best thing for us now.
Although, don't hate me for celebrating a victory either.

Me too. The experience the young ones and people like Big Al Geofferdad will be getting might be worth more than what we will obtain from the weak darft. I'm rooting for the team to make the playoffs. Even ekeing out a lone victory against one of the top four seeds would do wonders for the team going into next season.

I agree, I want the playoffs and I think it's good for the team to be a playoff team. But this trade does not make us immediately better, it wont make us better for awhile. And missing the playoffs is the probable cost of that.

I think we all need to deal with it now, so we don't feel sick during the off season.

I don't post much on here, but I wanted to give my $.02 on everything, and I figured this was as good a thread as any to do so. My family's had season tickets since '84, the year I was born. I started going to games in '89, so as long as I can remember the Jazz have been winners. Granted they never won the big one, and to some of you, that's all that matters, which is fine - that's your perogative. Without question I would sacrifice one of my reproductive organs (preferably the left one because that's the one that hangs lower and just looks depressed all the time) to see them raise a championship banner next to Hot Rod's microphone in the rafters. But, you cannot argue that the Jazz have not put forth (consistently) a good/entertaining product for 20+ years, which is more than just about any other organization in the NBA can say for themselves. My point is that the Jazz deserve a year like this one without people jumping ship. A lot of people like to say, well look at the Spurs, they're in the same predicament as us, and they've won 4 championships. Well the Spurs had two #1 picks within a 10 year span and they hit home runs on both of them. All I'm saying is give the Jazz a few years to see if they can rebuild before you start labeling them as an inept franchise. We lucked out last time we rebuilt as it took us only 2-3 years to do so. This time may take a little longer, but I still have faith that the ship can be righted quickly, and heck, even if it's not, I'll never forsake my allegiance to the Jazz.

I did not have to go into this thread...

****. Just ruined my day.

I will be a Jazz fan until I take my last breathe regardless if they win or lose. Of course, it is much better when they win. Nevertheless, I am excited about the future and hope all the existing assets are parts of the puzzle to a NBA championship.

I am realistic that the Jazz probably won't make the playoffs. I am also not a big fan of just making the playoffs for the sake of making the playoffs. Just look at the LA Lakers, they sucked for one year which resulted in them missing the playoffs. The result is they drafted Andrew Bynum. So if the Jazz miss the playoffs for one or two years to get championship caliber players then I am ok with it. A team of hard-working second rounders is not going to get it done. So even though I was against the trade it is an opportunity to acquire multiple players who have the potential to be stars or very good pllayers in the league. Add this to some of the Jazz current players and one cannot be anything but excited even though it might be guarded excitement. lol.

Really? After the year long lockout, nobody is still gonna want to play in Utah....Corbin has been signed to an extension and is clueless.....we virtually have no real building blocks that will amount to anything....the good old days of Jazz basketball are OVER!

Jump off the wagon and find a new team you hack.
