Hell, I'd do Gobert for Butler straight up.

Chicago won't do first idea. They jump on a Gobert swap though. Good thing Utah isn't dumb enough to trade Rudy.

Kind of funny you think we'd be shocked at how little we could get for Rudy, yet you think we could trade him for Butler.

Hell yes i keep Rudy. Completely different types of players. I would love Butler, but he doesn't completely change a game when he's in like Rudy does. Just look at the net ratings with or without Rudy, even with his offensive challenges we're a tonne better with him, and given a choice i would much prefer his type of leadership than Butler's questionable style.

Even with no Exum and both Rudy and Favors missing significant amounts of time, Utah finished 2nd in the league in fewest points allowed per game. But sure, let's get impatient because of injury troubles, and tear down the defense to improve the offense.

You and Frank can lead the one step forward and two steps back campaign to building an NBA team.
 
Gobert is the Jazz's entire defensive identity and ability. And the defense is the only thing proven to be good about this team.

So yeah, let's just get rid that.

Gobert's best case is turning into a 6'7 SF who can't shoot, not liked in the locker-room, and publicly criticizes his coach?
 
I would trade Favors for Butler. Then trade Hayward for #3 and draft Jamal Murray. At #12 draft best big available.

I love Butler. Maybe second after Kawhi in that kind of player list. But you don't trade a player like Rudy when you have a chance to turn him into a monumental center. You just don't. Esprcially when he is so willing to get even better. Staying in town for summer instead of NT. I would feel insulted. Get rid of players that you don't get or plan to get anyhting out of instead. Don't have to be Butler.
