George Hill coming to Utah

first and foremost I;m a fan of basketball, secondly I'm a fan of competition, thirdly I'm an even keeled bettor who doesn't take into account favoritism..

Believe what you want tho.

Not trying to convince ya of anything.

these silly team allegiances are akin to housewives rooting for their favorite actors in day-time soaps, the way I see it. Thats certainly reflected on this forum.

Dude, you want to max Harrison Barnes. Just shut the hell up.

I'm probably a little late discussing this, but why wouldn't we just go directly to Atlanta and offer the #12 for Teague? Why even include Indy?

Calling this a weak draft is just echoing the thoughts of others, it's far to presumptuous for me to buy at this point in time...

This move makes less sense than drafting Wade Baldwin 12th..

Infact the only legit reason on this move is to appease Hayward..

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything either. Just sharing my thoughts.

Isn't it far more presumptuous to take a player at #12 (look at the draft history at that position) and reasonably hope we'll get better production than we KNOW we'll get from George Hill? Add to that Hill's history with DL, his relationship with Snyder and Hayward, and his apparent desire to be here, and it's a no-brainer. The only thing that doesn't make sense is picking yet another unknown commodity that will take at least two seasons to mature into anything consistent, when there is an offer to immediately upgrade the most glaring need on the roster.

So what I heard is you cant commit to a team because you want to be a bandwagon fan. You just want to cheer for whatever team looks fun or you like at the moment. Being a real sports fan is about cheering for your team through the highs and lows. You certainly can dislike what your team is doing but you still cheer for them. That is what a real fan is. I guess little kids these days just cant commit to ****. One day when you grow up you'll understand.

Idk if its been posted, but Hill's agent said Utah was one of the few teams other than Indy he wanted to play for.

FYI all indications from twitter are that this is not a rental, and Hill wants to stay, is close with Hayward, etc. I think its probably a good move. There is always the question of why didn't we just take Teague, but i imagine it was probably because he is going to get paid $$$$$$$, and we have like 5 guys to extend.

I am mostly bummed because i built myself up for the draft tomorrow. lol.

I think Utah (and myself) like Hill better, think he is a better fit to the culture and our team identity especially defensively and think he will resign. Our FO and Coaches are very familiar with both players.

I also expect Hill to play a little harder in Utah, reports sound like he didnt like Indiana and never felt appreciated since they have been looking to replace him for a couple seasons.

Besides, this draft sucks. We could probably get the same type of player in the end of the first round and 2nd round that we could've gotten in the late lotto.

I really like this trade for next year, but my concerns lie with the future. We have major financial concerns from here on out. I would be shocked to see Burks make it past next summer unless he plays out of his mind.

This is a trade to win now and we just have to hope that healthy Exum healthy Burks, and improvement from other players lead to success.

Per tony jones Twitter: Hill's agent said they would've looked at Utah next season in free agency regardless. He loves Snyder, has close relationship with Hayward

So last year, with Paul George injured, they actually let George Hill do some things.

He had a 24% usage rate, which is decently high. He put up 20/6/5 per 36 on 48% shooting overall, 36% from 3. That's really damn good. 16/5/4 in 30 minutes a game.

So we know he can play well with high usage, we know he can play well with a low usage. We know he's not going to complain too much. Shoots well, plays good defense, tough veteran, been in the playoffs.

And we got that for a late lottery pick in a crappy draft where everybody is trying to sell their picks? Yeah, I think I'm ok with that. Oh and he wants to resign here. Freaking awesome.
