If Durant Signs With Someone other than OKC

Will be interesting to see where Durant ends up ... From what I have read GSW looks the favourite ..

If that happens , do warriors shed contracts ... Barnes + Bogut ?

I can see the Jazz taking Bogut as an expiring contract , Barnes would be a very nice addition

How much should the Jazz pay Barnes to come here? Just curious since that subject hasn't come up before.

I think okc is the favorite to land durant.

Also heard that okc is likely to add horford. That should help entice durant to stay

I don't know what Durant will do, but I sure hope he leaves for the East. He won't come here because he has too much respect for OKC. Leaving for a team within the division who hasn't made the playoffs in so long would have him crushed in the media even if we all know it would be a pretty savvy basketball move.

Odds are against it. Only two eastern teams he is meeting are the Celtics and Heat. West teams are Thunder, Spurs, Clippers and Warriors.

Just quickly went through this thread. People are mad the Jazz aren't calling up ESPN saying that they are trying to get a meeting with Durant? What's the point? Why would they do this?

Why not?

Because there's no point?
So there is no reason not to then.

Doing it hurts nothing.
But it at least let's the fans know that the jazz are trying. That's something.

Dennis calls Durant's agent, they say we are not interested in a meeting... I just don't see the logic in going and telling the media that. Control what you can control and focus on building your team.

not a big deal but I have seen multiple posters stating that it would make them happy to know that the jazz at least tried to get durant.

I have no dog in the fight but I can understand that point of view.

Because there's no point... If Durant and Durant's people know that's all that matters right?
Why do other teams do it then? The Lakers have made it known through the media that they are interested in Durant even though It's been reported that he is not interested and will not meet with them. I'll tell you why...because it's a good PR move. It tells a fan base that the organization is serious about winning and it's not only about just making money.

It is less about Durant, IMO, than it is the Jazz at least trying to go after the biggest names. The principle

Good post. Durant type guy is all we are missing to have a real shot at a title. Of course there are probably quite a few other teams that could say that too.

Too bad it's almost a certainty that we have no chance at him.
The jazz have to find their star in the draft. Gotta hit homeruns with draft picks. DL has done well in drafts so far but most likely (there is a chance one of our guys will be a star) just hasn't snagged that star yet.

Our team is built perfectly for Durant. Too bad he's in a broken, desperate state like Lebron was 6 years ago. He's gone a coattail huntin'

Durant needs to be part of a superteam that can beat Lebron.
Only way he can get a ring
Warriors Spurs Wolves etc

Lakers can worry about the PR of desperately grasping at something that isn't going to happen, Jazz can worry about building a successful team. These genius marketing and PR departments in the Lakers FO are also the ones who completely turned Aldridge off from even considering them in their meetings last offseason.

I understand. Just stating my preference.

Maybe Durant sees Boston as an easier path to Finals. And he wouldn't have to play in the same conference as OKC. He would have better excuses...

There is a reason to not publicly announce interest in durrant. If he's openly stated his list and you then tell ESPN "hey look at me". Then you appear desperate and unprofessional. The Jazz FO is positioning themselves to be straightshootin' well organized and strategic org.

It's far from a no brainer to announce interest.
