I wish Utah wasn't such a small market. They should be in this conversation. DL has put together a nearly perfect team for a guy like KD to thrive. An up-and-coming coach, a young defensive anchor, two guys who have 6th man of the year potential, two fringe All Star players who can play both ends of the court and now, two long PGs that can play defense and distribute. Also consider potential upside and development of guys like Gobert, Exum, Lyles and Hood.
They can sign him outright without sacrificing any assets, and could probably move Burks, Burke and Pleiss to free up about $15 million to sign a guy like Pau Gasol if they wanted to.
Gobert, Favors, Gasol, Lyles, Durant, Hayward, Hood, Hill and Exum. That team becomes an instant contender. Too damn bad that they didn't push a little harder to make the playoffs this past year. One good playoff series can change outside perceptions about a team. If the Lakers or Knicks had this roster, the media would be fawning over them as a top free agent destination.

I don't know. And you don't know either...which is the whole point. Since we don't hear anything, all we can assume is nothing is being done to get into the Durant sweepstakes. It's no secret that Durant is the most coveted Free Agent since Lebron, so why be secretive about it if we are indeed interested. It doesn't affect our chances one way or another. How do you know the Jazz arent planning to reach out to him? We are not on his list of teams he is willing to visit that doesnt mean we wont reach out to his agent and at least ask.
How much should the Jazz pay Barnes to come here? Just curious since that subject hasn't come up before. Will be interesting to see where Durant ends up ... From what I have read GSW looks the favourite ..
If that happens , do warriors shed contracts ... Barnes + Bogut ?
I can see the Jazz taking Bogut as an expiring contract , Barnes would be a very nice addition
I think okc is the favorite to land durant. Will be interesting to see where Durant ends up ... From what I have read GSW looks the favourite ..

I don't know what Durant will do, but I sure hope he leaves for the East. He won't come here because he has too much respect for OKC. Leaving for a team within the division who hasn't made the playoffs in so long would have him crushed in the media even if we all know it would be a pretty savvy basketball move.

Why not?Just quickly went through this thread. People are mad the Jazz aren't calling up ESPN saying that they are trying to get a meeting with Durant? What's the point? Why would they do this?
Why not?
So there is no reason not to then.Because there's no point?
