the Jazz have 16 draft picks. That is to say that they have acquired six draft picks in their current mode.
Quantity does not equal quality. Barring a collapse by the Jazz or Warriors, the 1st round picks will all be late. Best we could get from OKC is #15 and Id say there's a very good chance that pick turns into two 2nds.the Jazz have 16 draft picks. Look at all the picks we had this year. Did we get a 2nd year "steal?"
Diaw and Johnson were the right moves.George Hill was probably the right move (knock on wood).
Diaw and Johnson were the right moves.
But what if Hill is just a 1yr rental? Jazz essentially gave up Dejounte Murray for Hill. Murray looks like a baller and will be extremely cheap for 4 years. I don't care how Hill does. It was a stupid trade. Just look at where our cap/tax situation projects in 2018/19. Unless Hayward leaves, Or DL has already decided Lyles will replace Favs, Utah can't afford ANY backups at $8-$10m. They'll have 5 starters likely making $100-$110m. That leaves 8 positions to fill - most will need to be on rookie deals, with 3-4 scrubs at league minimum to fill the roster.
Seriously? How do people get this f****** stupid?
Hayward is going to get a max deal from the Jazz for Mike Conley money most likey, 30 million per year. Rudy will probably get a deal similar to Whiteside 23.5 million per year. Favors is in line for something similar to Rudy. That's over 70 million for 3 players and those numbers are probably on the low end. Nothing Stifle Tower said was stupid. At all.
And that's still almost 60M under the projected Luxury Tax.
