And Jackson and Faried went after that

And none of those players were getting drafted at #3 by anybody. Historical context matters.

I would also add that Faried is the most overrated player in that draft by a light-year and that Jimmy Butler went 30th.

Thankfully DL and Snyder seem to be doing much better through the draft.

Do you mean Trey Burke or do you mean Dante Exum? The Jazz merely established that they don't do well with high-picks in the 2011 draft, DL made it a tradition. If anything, Kanter might be the best of those three picks. The biggest mistakes the Jazz made with Kanter are how he was mercilessly and pointlessly buried to begin his career, and then the trade where the Jazz went out of their way to dodge taking Reggie Jackson to instead take a bunch of junk assets.

For the record, almost nobody had problems with any of those picks at the time, myself included.

We also made the mistake of trying to make him a stretch big.

Kawhi was mocked in the top 5 by many.

I'm not second-guessing the pick, but, yeah, that's true.

Kanter was drafted in 2011 and KOC was still running the show.

DL started to take over in 2013. They drafted Burke (DL let it be known he was Corbin's pick, wasn't a fan of the way he threw him out there like that). Then they got Gobert

2014 is when the combo of DL and Snyder was running the show.

2014: Exum, Hood
2015: Lyles

Granted that it is still to soon to tell if the Exum pick was good or not. But I have more faith now than I did before.

Was only pointing out that 11-20 was better. I know none of those guys were getting picked top 3

Many seems like ultra-hyperbole here. Most had him in the 8-12 range if memory serves.

I'm pretty sure DX had him as high as 3. I also remember another reputable source listing him as the third best prospect.

You'll have to deal with these shards of memory, brough.

this is the first time in this history of my life that I've been mistaken about a memory that is 3-7 years old.

do those show his highest and lowest position in the polls? Or just his final one? I'm not ****ing looking, btw. But since you guys are looking for some busy work...

I'm not looking either. 'Cause I'm right and don't need to.

Yes, all the stuff CL posted doesnt prove you wrong or him right. Only the chart I posted from DX shows that he wasnt top 5 at any point (according to them). He was 7 though for 2 weeks so entirely plausible people had him ranked top 5 at some point.

I'm not sure if you're disputing anything in my post or backing it up, but to be clear, all (parentheticals aside) of the information in your post is taken into account in mine.

Sure, some may have. Not many though. That was my original point.

Does it really matter? The decision is made on draft day, after all.

lol

please also note that one of my memories tells of a site that had him ranked as the third best PROSPECT. That doesn't reference his draft position and therefore can be disputed (or litigated, obviously) on those terms. tia.
