Utah Jazz sign second-round pick Marcus Paige

Star fodder? I could see this being done to stock D league roster

I think the team can bring 20 to training camp and if my math is correct there are still two spots left to fill. That could the other second round pick and one other player walking the streets.

Wait, how many guys can we have signed?

You sign them and then cut them. It's basically a signing bonus for them to join the Stars. That's why I wanted to know details of the Bolomboy deal.

I'm guessing both Paige and Bolomboy both signed a deal with 50K in guaranteed money. They will both be cut whenever the deadline is and both will be signed by the SLC Stars. Basically the exact same thing we did with JJ Obrien last year.

D league bound
I know for a FACT that the Jazz offer a deal to Fred VanVleet before the draft stating they would select him if he would be willing to accept being stashed away in the Dleague for a minimum of 2 years.
He said no so they found someone who was willing to aCCept the deal.. Getting paid around 30k for being stashed in the Dleague was not what VanVleet wanted knopwing he could make a lot more playing overseas and had enough confidence in his game to believe he could make more money and making a team.

The answer is no. Glad you recognize the expertise.

I thought the signing bonus for DLeague bound players was $75,000 to $100,000 so that the DLeague season with its max salary of $26,000 would make it a bit more lucrative but not to the point of Europe or Asia for playing.

Fringe NBA players like Paige probably arent making 100,000 in Europe or China,at least not for their first couple of years.

some truth in the details of this post. But, Joel has a chance to make the final roster.

I hope so. I'd like him over Pleiss tbh.

Gobert/Withey/Bolomboy/Favors/Diaw/Lyles should be the 6 bigs imo.

Edit: Either way it won't make much difference and I trust the FO and coaches.

Jazz D League teams gets to a finals before the Jazz doo. You heard it first from here, Me the weatherman. Sure once in awhile ill get it wrong but most of the time, Spot on.

Why such the love for Withey is beyond me. Dude is a fringe NBA player and I don't know if you do it but a lot here thinks he should be getting minutes.

He's a solid role player. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't be an idiot.

I noticed an article just after lunch that the Kings are interested in bringing in a point guard for camp. Bryce Cotton was a name being discussed but it seems like someone on the Jazz roster like Neto or Mack might be attractive to the Kings and then perhaps that opens up something for Mr. Paige.
