You think if we made an offer to Real Madrid or CSKA that they'd bite?
I watched many of his games, I'd say he is a viable third big in the NBA, despite much of the ridicule.
Challenge is will get pushed around due to lack of strength and little defensive presence, especially for a guy high height/ length. Offense is above average for NBA backup center.

I watched Pleiss play in Germany a bit. Mostly film from a friend but he can be the real deal. Whether it converts to the NBA remains to be seen but he had range out to NBA 3 and was a solid rim defender. Can also handle the ball very well for a big man. Tough to see in the few minutes he played last year. If we could keep him as a backup to Rudy it would be a plus, if he gets the minutes to make the adjustment. Could be a memo with shot blocking instincts.
He has 0 shot blocking instincts and his shooting is far from Memo level.
You are really bad at evaluating basketball. You think the Jazz suck but Pleiss can potentially be a Memo who can block shots? Good lord my man stop huffing the Elmer's.

He was the first pick in the 2nd round of 2010 draft. He was drafted ahead of Hassan Whiteside so someone saw something in him. That was the draft Favors was picked No. 3 and the Jazz drafted Jeremy Evans and Hayward.

I said after Bolomboy sucked in the Jazz summer league that he still was a better option than Pleiss and it looks like the Jazz agree. The guy has a lot of potential. Pleiss has only one skill, shooting, but he can't do anything else well. He's took weak to rebound and too slow to block shots, not good for a big man. Withey can do both and is a very good rim protector. I have a feeling that Bolomboy is going to turn out to be a baller.
I'm in the camp that would rather see mediocre-at-best bench players walk than give them huge deals. Especially when their defense sucks. I would rather overpay Hayward with that money.
