Jonathan Tjarks from The Ringer: Trey Lyles Is Utah’s Secret Weapon Hidden Behind the Towers

Couldn't be happier with the Jazz picking of Lyles. I hope he can be a quicker more athletic Boozer with more range. And his defensive weakness can somewhat be hidden on the bench and playing along side Favors or Gobert

Watching that I am going to miss Booker. Hill, Johnson, and Diaw are better, but they won't be tearing the rim down like he did.

Would be awesome to see if Bolomboy evolves into a player that exhibits some of Booker's best traits.

His athleticism could be better, his vertical is surprisingly 5-6 inches better and his wingspan is 4" wider. They both seem like awesome character guys and teammates. Would be cool to see Joel bring Booker-like energy to the game.

Yeah, I know, I'm totally counting unhatched chickens, but a guy's got to dream.

I am hoping that he becomes a Trey Lyles and nothing like a Carlos Boozer. Don't get me wrong, Boozer was great during his time with the Jazz, but Lyles has the making and breaking of his career right in front of him. Let's not put a ceiling on his expectations. Depending on his off season effort, his weakness (being defense) could become his strength. He is young and athletic. His amount of passion, determination and work ethic will later become transparent after a couple a years in the league. If he keeps his head down to the court and out of chasing the lime light, he'll be in good shape. I think he could surprise a lot of critics. Better yet, I hope he surprises a lot of fans, opponents and coaches.
