Should Jazz Sign Chris Bosh for Minimum?

24. Someone signs Chris Bosh for the minimum

The most likely course of action as of now in this murky, sad situation, per sources all around it: The Heat wait until after March 1 to waive Bosh, so that he is not eligible to appear in the postseason for any team that signs him. At that point, Bosh's mammoth salary would vanish from Miami's cap sheet, freeing Riles to plop his rings in front of one or two stars this summer.

Bosh wants to play, and some team will absolutely sign him for the minimum -- even if it's just for this season. Bosh is still going to get all his money from Miami, and suitors will try to coax him into signing through 2017-18.

That is Miami's financial nightmare: The Heat spend a gazillion on free agents this summer, and Bosh plays at least 25 games elsewhere in 2017-18 -- at which point, NBA rules require his salary nestle back atop Miami's cap number. That could send the Heat flying into luxury tax hell. Miami hasn't found a middle ground that would allow it to waive Bosh and proceed with financial certainty. Bosh is under no obligation to provide them with one.

Meanwhile, signing Bosh on the cheap is a no-harm, no-foul move for a team with an open roster spot and the patience for a thorough medical evaluation.

Cut Jeff Withey and sign Bosh.

I'd do this easy. If he gets healthy and plays then holy ****. If not it sabotages the Heat and I don't like them anyways. Won't hurt Utah as whoever he replaces is garbage time.

Would blood clots be affected by altitude. Bosh should retire.

Will every team in the nba try and sign bosh for the minimum? That's a yes (minus the heat).

Why in the World would he sing with the Jazz for the minimum when he could go to Cleveland and do the same . oh and be in the finals. Jazz fans are crazy thinking they got some kind of team that are legit contenders. They are going be fighting just to make the playoffs with about 7 other teams. Pencil in 3 teams from the West with ease and then 7 teams fighting for 5 spots. Jazz are not as good as yall think and the media is on yall bandwagon, Congrats, Everyyear they get on some teams bandwagon and that team underachieves. Last year it was the Rocket sand this year it is the Jazz. The Lakers are going be one of them team fighting for a playoff spot also. They have some nice young players and a coach who is better then the Jazz coach. Walton> Quin and it isn't even close.

Out of all teams that Bosh could sign with the Jazz are at the low end of the pole. Stop overrating the Jazz. I know that's what Fans do but don't disrespect the game I love this wway PLEASE.

Heat won't release him until after March 1, which would make it so he can't make anyone's playoff roster. Not happening.

Bosh is still taking Xarelto and so although not impossible, it's VERY unlikely he'll get another blood clot. Plus he's likely doing all the necessary things now he didn't do prior to getting the blood clot.

He is dying to play but props to the Heat for not exploiting his emotions and caring for his life. I hope he finds peace and retires wihout risking any further.

I personally would rather cut Neto and have a legit big behind Gobert for when we need one. Bosh and Bolomboy and Diaw can be exposed in ways that Withey can't imo. But that's splitting hairs. When I read the article, I immediately thought we should pursue him. If he's healthy, he's the type of guy that could, and I'm overstepping my bounds here and don't give a damn, make us a legit title contender imo. Yep, I said it. GGB.

I don't think this is necessarily true. If they can cut him, they may out of respect for him (like we did for Fish) and to clear cap space which, Zach Lowe said in his article today, could be a likely scenario for the team.

Do us all a favor, and go **** off somewhere. If someone had suggested Joe Johnson sign with Utah, you would have responded with the same, tired trash. Nobody cares about your dumb thoughts. About anything.

I'm not sure what to make of this post. There has been more than one clot and they keep coming back. Are you saying he didn't take it seriously until this most recent clot? Don't think I buy that at all.

If Bosh is going anywhere this year I can pretty much guarantee you it's gonna be Cleveland and not Utah.

You raise a great point. If I were him I wouldnt sign with the Jazz either, ESPECIALLY, if he could sign with a contender like you stated. Since Bosh is essentially at the end of his career why would he take a chance on playing for a developing team?

To be sure, there are some folks overrating the Jazz but I think most are approaching this season with a modicum of common sense. I think the Jazz are being rated right where they should be.

Man, you have been smoking an awful lot of weed. Walton has yet to prove himself. He stepped into a situation in which very few coaches would've failed. He has a long way to go before he gets to Quin's level.
