Terrible Trade Idea That I Secretly Kind of Like

I want them to use him and a pick to get into the lottery in this next draft. If he can play the second half of the season, he can show that he still has value. Jazz will hopefully picking around 22-25. Would love to see them move up 10 picks and get someone that will contribute while on a rookie contract for the next 4 years.

We aren't moving up even close to ten picks by throwing Alec "Never Healthy" Burks in the deal. Even if he plays great for 50 games.

I've been playing around with this trade idea.

Shelvin Mack
Jeff Withey
1st round pick.

To Sacramento for Willie Cauley Stein

Jazz get real front line depth and real flexibility in case Favors/Gobert missed some time. Plus, Jazz could pick up insurance in case they have to look at the possibility of moving Favors if they need space to re-sign GH and GH2

Sac needs PG depth and Withey can be their second best looking center next to Kosta Koufos.

I'd consider moving Burks if and only if it enabled us to extend BOTH Favors and Hill.

Otherwise, you gotta keep him and hope he gets healthy.

agreed. But I'd also have some worry even in that scenario, since Burks is at least some insurance in case Hayward leaves.

There is a joke somewhere in there about the irony of the injury prone Burks being insurance for something but I'm too lazy to do it... but just know it's there.

No one has said Mack was better than Lou.....

Just saying this trade sucks. Burks > Lou. Have some damn patience you inbred ingrate.

Little Bully Johnny must need some attention, how quaint. I've heard that the best approach is to ignore him and the bad behavior might go away.

Burks could be a trade chip easily at the trade deadline. There Will Be Enough Teams That Just Suck So Bad That They Will Need To Look To Get Younger And The Jazz Might Grab Dome One WORtH while.

Now burks for Williams would be a huge upgrade at this point but not sure the Lakers would do it considering Williams is leading the team in scoring. Williams would be huge for the jazz in the play offs.

I like the idea of the sacto trade. Wcs is rumored to be tradeable. I like mack used but I would want mclemore if burks is used. Mclemore might flourish in the spacing created on the jazz.

Boston and philly are options. I could see new York inquiring.

50K+ posts on a forum seems to say that the attention has been needed for some time. A contrarian needs somewhere to go when he doesn't get the thanksgiving dinner invite or the family "forgets" his birthday. Wish him a happy birthday, ignore the salt he throws at anyone who will listen, and move on to those who can actually have a conversation without trying to inflate a damaged ego.

Also, $10M is an interesting salary figure, where its not too low to really net a player, and not so high that he's unmovable. i think it is fair to consider him a deadline chip as well.

Im sure teams are just lined up at the door for Alec Burks. The guy who has proven nothing in the NBA, makes 10 million a year, and is always injured.

SMH

This. Our overinflation of Jazz players is silly.

Yes but NBA players are often traded based on potential and Burks has been good at times. I do agree that the Lakers are likely the team that would say no which more than half the posters here could not fathom. This is not unique to our fan base though.
