Felt like we needed a thread on this. If you havent been watching it, catch up now, the season finale is next Sunday.
 
It's a good show for sure. It hasn't totally sucked me in but I'm definitely watching it.
 
I really don't watch tv shows but during thanksgiving my cousin who makes good recommendations was trying to convince me to watch this.

This is how I feel.
My expectations were too high so I have been a bit underwhelmed. Good show though.

There is a old West themed park populated by life-like robots. You can get in shoot outs with them or have sex with them or anything in-between. Turns out they might be sentient and drama ensues.
 
slightly underwhelmed to a large degree but it's got good potential .. hoping it's going to be one of those series that picks up momentum in it's second season
 
I watched the first episode and was very underwhelmed. Way too much narration for me. That said, I was very tired and understand the exposition, presented in that manner, may have been needed. I'll probably give it a better shot over my Xmas break one day.

Sounds really cool. Anthony Hopkins is great. I gotta check this out.

Somewhere in the 100 projects I'm working on developing is an idea about an evil amusement park where people get kidnapped and 'reprogramed' to work for the park. Sounds like I can kinda get some research value in watching this :p


For some reason when I heard amusement park I thought of;

Surprised of how many people are underwhelmed by it, I guess thats to be expected when things get hyped. I think it's great.

Ya, to be fair my expectations were WAY too high.

Part of it, for me anyway, is that it's roots/themes on God, our origins, etcetera have been done recently with movies like Ex Machina and Prometheus.
 
Yeah, I'm good with the characters and the acting. The writing is also solid. I'm not knocking the show. I'm watching it and look forward to the next episode. Good show for sure. I just want to see that this story has legs. Otherwise I'd really like them to bring this thing home before season three and absolutely before season four. If there's a bigger story then by all means go further, I just want to know there is more before giving a ****.
 
We just started this and I'm getting flashes of Penny Dreadful...not that he shows are really alike at all but rather the fact that PD just kind of feel apart after the first season. Time will tell if this one is in it for the long haul.
 
It really is one of the best shows I've seen in years...



It's 'different', but in a good way. I'm just so glad Jonathan Nolan and JJ Abrahams have the balls to do something this daring.

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. I mean if it just turns into a battle between sentient robots and people is not such a great show. Most of the mystery seems to be gone at this point.
 
I am 4 episodes in. Pretty good stuff. Maybe over-hyped but it's one of the better shows I have seen in the past few years. I would still put True Detective ahead of it.

Also there's a few bad actors in there that can't keep up...... so it's ruining my vibe.

True detective season 1 might be the best television i have ever witnessed.
