Rumor: DMo to sign with Jazz if Favors misses extended time

Signing him for anything more than a year doesn't make much sense. But signing him for the rest of this season could be a good pickup. Diaw and Lyles already play similar roles, but he is 7'0" tall and has a nice stroke from the outside. He is a promising player. If it's not the Jazz, then I am sure someone will be happy with him.

He didnt get shafted. He tried to play the market and he didnt get any offers so the Rockets pulled back their original offer. That's how business works.

Why not Neto? They make about the same. Withey's coming around and with Burks coming back (has played some point for us), Favor's injury issues, I think we could use a big more than a 4th string pg.

I think this is just smoke to put some pressure on Favors. I'm not sure DL would feel comfortable cutting Neto. Hill and Mack are UFA's. If both leave and Neto is released, only Exum would be left.
Withey has been very good the last several games and is a true center.
Does DMO give Utah a lot more than what Lyles is starting to produce? I want Trey to get all the minutes he can. His offensive game is developing nicely.

Withey's defense has also been pretty damn good lately for the limited-minutes player that he is.

This. Whitey is under rated by jazz fans. Never be a super star but to have a legit 7 footer who puts forth good effort with a nose for the ball to back up Rudy is invaluable.

Withey is playing well. Lyles is improving. Diaw is playing better. D Mo would be an asset upgrade, nothing more. Withey wouldn't be gone. I would say that if anyone were to be gone it would be Neto. I mean, Dante is getting crap minutes... when do you expect Neto to play big minutes again?
