please adjust your expectations

Dudes, we've been injured as ****. Like bigtime ****. We aren't likely to get totally right and into any kind of groove until around the All-Star break. And that's assuming we don't have any other injuries. This means that you all should adjust your expectations NOW and stop whining like pimpled teens.

I fully expect the top 4 seeds to be out of reach. Warriors, Spurs, Clippers, and Rockets. They will all have about six+ games on us. I've seen enough to know that, if healthy (and, yes, I know about Griffin, but look at their record without him), they aren't going to give that ground back.

According to all reasonable probabilities, this is what we're facing. Get used to it.

This site is unreadable after a loss. We just played arguably the best backcourt in the league without our starting backcourt (yeah, Hood was there but was obviously just giving it a go at, like, 30% health) but if this was your only source of jazz info, you'd think the whole season was slipping away. You know who you are. Take strong drugs and sleep it off for a while. Sedatives. Good ones. TIA

Read this after I typed what I did in the game thread. True words broski's.

Adjust? That's weak. I have given up on any kind of expectation for this team. Whatever happens, happens.

I still have fairly high expectations, but I have 0 against the top teams in the NBA w/ our current injuries.

I believe what annoys people the most is constantly giving up big leads to average teams. Or any team for the matter. I.E. kings .....
As long as everyone plays hard each game, results will take care of themselves

I haven't been reading a lot in the Jazz forum, but the encouraging thing to me is that we were kind of within reach of a top four seed given the injuries that we have sustained. This team is really good. They are basically one more player breaking out from being a contender. If Favors gets healthy and plays like he has before, that might even do it. Exum might be a lost cause, but there still might be a chance that he breaks out. I think we are pretty much set to have a ceiling as high as the Clips current iteration, so that's pretty great in itself.

Go Jazz!

It gets a lot easier to play hard when you don't have to play 39 minutes a night.

I still think a high seed is possible, even if it's not probable. George Hill is the key here. Even though he isn't considered a star in this league, he has something that not even Hayward has, and that's ice water in his veins under pressure. Hill will be huge for us in close games, but we will also be in fewer close game situations with Hill running things.

Either way, even if we end up with a lower seed than we hoped for, we have a great chance at getting past the first round if healthy. NOBODY is going to want to face a healthy Jazz team in the 1st round. If we do end up completely healthy down the stretch, don't be surprised if teams are resting their starting 5 in the last few regular season games in hopes of dropping and playing the next higher seed. People talk about that every year, and it's usually just BS, but a fully healthy Utah team is going to be a tougher out than several higher seeds.

I understand people being upset about close losses, because it is right there within reach, within the team's grasp, so those are more frustrating and I am right there during/while the game is going on. Once the game is over though my logical mind realizes that for the last 3 games the Jazz are basically with out their starting PG, backup PG, starting SG, backup SG and even the starting PF while back is only playing 12-14min a night.

So that means the 3rd string PG is starting and the 3rd string SG is starting and the backup PF and 3rd string PF are getting majority minutes.

You do that to any team and especially on the back end of a back to back they may not be able to close a game (like the Kings game). I am not making excuses but out of the last 3 games that was the only 1 that should've been a winnable game given the injuries and the competition.

I will say that the injuries have worn on me and making it less and less excitable for the games however and I think it's even evident sometimes with the crowd at home games. It's like before the game even starts they got a punch to the gut and it takes some excitable things to get them going.

My expectations are fine. I think this team is really good. If they manage to stay healthy for the second half of the season, I think they got a chance of making a respectable run in the playoffs.

Don't understand why OP doesn't just adjust his expectations for jazzfanz instead of trying to adjust the expectations of every other poster. Seems much easier. It must be for the greater good or smth.
