Now that Hill is coming back soon, I want to give Shelvin Mack props for holding it down the last 13 games and keeping the Jazz in the playoff hunt.

I feel like you can really tell a lot about a poster if they post anti-Mack rants.

Thanks Shelvin.

Good call. Dude has been solid. Should be a good backup for Hill. With Hill and burks back, having a rotation of hill, mack, neto/burks/exum makes our previous weakest position one of the strongest.

Sometimes he takes bad chances and turns the ball over. Sometimes he over-dribbles a possession, or makes a late pass. But none of that takes away from the fact that he has a floater, he can throw a good lob, and he can physically penetrate past any PG in the league because of his girth and create for the team. The complaints about him in these parts are way overblown.

Agreed. I've been up and down on Mack; but the bottom line is The Jazz went 8-5 without their starting PG and veteran floor leader.

I think most teams would take that in a heartbeat.

He was a good trade for a 2nd rd pick and easily has outperformed his salary.

Yay for the Mack circle-jerk! Way to be, BabyP.

He's always ready to play and he plays hard. He could be a better distributor at times but he brings a scoring threat. He's also drama-free and seems like a good teammate.

Although before we send our well wishes to Mack back to the bench I have to wonder how long it will take to get Hill back to speed.

With the sprain toe I imagine his cardio is limited - certainly his ability to cut/slash.

I'm sure Hill will be subject to the famous Utah Jazz minute restriction.

Severely underrated player IMO probably due to getting lost at the end of Atlanta's bench. Kudos to Snyder for freeing the "Macksturbator", hell no, the "Mack Daddy".

He has played better... still a frustrating guy to watch sometimes. If he'd cut down on the unnecessary mistakes (shooting a three off the dribble early in the clock or just really bad ball handling mistakes) he'd be a perfect bench guy. He's a good bench player... I hope he can just spend a little more time on the bench now. Thanks Shelvin.

Mack is not a starting caliber PG, and he has sig defficiencies, including way too high usage rate for a non-primary scorer, poor free throw shooter, and inability to guard quicker PGs on the perimiter (Miami, Sac, & Toronto killed Jazz with PG penetration). BUT, with that said, he's a pretty decent backup PG and best PG on Jazz at moment not named George Hill. He definitely helped Jazz stay afloat with injuries to Hill more so that would have Exum or Neto. So give him props. He's definitely an NBA player, perhaps one of better back-up PGs in the league. Only, thank heavens that he's not our primary PG once Hill comes back.

He's helpful off the bench because he can kind of play both guard positions. If you have to rely on him like we have I think it uncovers his ugly some nights.

I will no longer complain about him. Just please God can we have Hill healthy the rest of the season.

I'll join in. Mack has clearly been invaluable with Hill's injury and Dante's regression. Jazz would have been screwed by an Exum/Neto rotation. Not sure if Exum will develop, so I hope Utah can sign Hill and Mack for next season. Neto can be moved to make room for a FA or draft pick.

Mack is what trey Burke should have been.

Mack is a rich man's trey Burke if you will.

Trey Burke was suppose to be a steady PG who could shoot, distribute, and be a leader. Not sure Mack is any of those things, but he is a guy who can get his own shot, break the paint, and make some floaters.

The people hating on Mack probably weren't Jazz fans very long. If they were around long enough to remember guys like Keith McLeod, Jason Hart, Ronnie Price, Milt Palacio they wouldn't be complaining about Mack at all.
