What's new

How much do you hate Alex Len?

Watch the play and you'll see it wasn't flagrant. I'm sure the refs reviewed and they left it as just an offensive foul. Len brought the ball down and then went back up. It's just the difference in height and the fact Hill was in tight trying to deny him space to the hoop. Karl Malone was the player who used to swing elbows to clear space and punish opponents. So as a Jazz fan,I don't think we have grounds to complain.
Malone played in the "Kill or be killed" era of basketball...back when players ate nails and drank gasoline for breakfast, none of this vegan, gluten-free, low carb diets we see today. Throwing elbows was an accepted part of the game, nobody (not named David Robinson) ever got a concussion from an elbow. But in today's game, elbows to the face is a huge safety issue and cannot be tolerated. Len should be suspended.

Len is know for his dirty plays. Nobody likes em.

There were definitely concussions, but they weren't considered so damaging to the player/person as they are now known to be. Much like the NFL they didn't really report them until recently. Or maybe you're agreeing and saying a concussion was considered a pansy thing so no one said they had one, but medically I'm sure there's a bunch who did.

The Elbow on Hill looked bad but it did not look intentional. The one on Raul should have been a flagrant, he intentionally hit him in the face. At the very least it was a highly illegal screen. They didn't even call a foul on the play.

If Hill misses more significant time because of that prick I'm ready to break out the Len voodoo doll.

If you think about it Alex Len was good enough to convince teams he was better than Rudy(Plumlee, Dieng, Noguiera, Adams, Olynyk and Noel too)!! In doing so he did the Jazz a great service.

Alex Len is a filthy douchebag. The elbow was intentional as he moved his arms in that direction to knock Hill out, only to move back to the same position that he could (and should have shot) from to begin with.

Wrong.

Raul hooked him an pulled his arm away. Typical veteran move by Neto trying to create the foul. Ref was right there an player's do this hoping to catch blindside eye of refs an overreact. It failed this time get a grip folks Len was not trying to hurt Hill an was the one fouled on the other.

When you cut your elbow on someone's tooth after it has already gone through their lip you probably swung your elbows harder than was necessary to create space.

He has a 98 overall rating tho.
He's no Brook Lopez but ended up being a damn safe pick (and would've been if he went #1 to Cleveland...). 13.2ppg 11.6reb 2.5blks /per 36 on 50% shooting and 73% from the stripe hitting RFA the summer he turns 24 -- He's gonna get PAID.

Remember the thread about Utah not drawing charges? Well, this is one example of why trying to draw offensive fouls is not always a great thing. It has to be hard, or a player has to be set and take a lot of physical punishment to draw the foul. And with that comes the risk of injury. Kudos to Hill for denying the basket. But being half a foot shorter put his head at the level of Len's elbows. Just unfortunate. Had it been Gobert or Favors, those elbows would have been in the chest, maybe not even a foul.
