What's new

Minutes/rotations

We're good enough to win whatever happens with the backup role, particularly now with all players back.

i see where the sentiment is but what about the flipside ... what if George Hill gets an offer he can't refuse or wants to go elsewhere, and/or Mack gets more $$ thrown at him that we don't want to spend, and then all of a sudden Exum who's been wrapped in cotton wool for the rest of the season is thrust into that position and we take a jump backward.

I like Mack's ability to score in the midrange and his floater but the amount of dumb mistakes in the rest of his game drives me bonkers. I really can't believe there'd be any major difference in winning/losing if at the least there was some sort of split in the backup minutes, but preferably went to Dante or a split of AB & Exum.

I don't think our margin for error is big enough to ignore that Mack helps more than Exum most nights.

If Exum is our starter next year we are effed. He's not ready... If Hill left I think we'd have to bring in another good stopgap option. Rubio, Dragic, likely available through trade... or a FA option D-Will, Collison, or some other kind of crappy option.

Basically give George Hill all the money... All. Of. It.

That's the crux of it... but if we don't even if we get another stop gap PG it's still a massive hole if Exum hasn't been at least a little developed.

Mack helps offensively but he makes plenty of mistakes on both ends that to me negate his positives. If the backup mins are down to 13-15 i just don't think it's a big difference, and it also doesn't allow the chance that Exum might actually make some sort of a jump as the year goes on.

Fascinating to see what happens and watch it all unfold.

Its not that big of a hole. Idk how good you think the average backup PG is, but Mack is about average.

Hill has been amazing but hes not the only PG who would work in this system, with this team... We are just so use to seeing 3rd and 4th string PGs run our team that a genuine starter like George Hill just blows our mind. I think George Hill is smart enough to know the situation he is in and wont be tempted from massive offers from terrible organisations.
