He had a decent stat line and was even praised by Quin for his defense. I thought his court vision was really good last night, he switched well and stayed in front of his man decently. (Although the Pistons looked as if they were running in mud most of the night). Is this the point where he turns it on and earns the minutes he needs to progress? Or is it as simple as Snyder finally looked at the stats and realized Mack could be upgraded?

He looked pretty good in his small minutes yesterday. I was most impressed that he finished at the rim twice last night, in I think his two attempts. If he can do that consistently he'll be super dangerous.

He needs to run the team better as the primary ball handler, but he definitely had some good moments. He had two nice drives for lay-ups that he might not have finished in the past. He set up Gobert and Favors for easy scores. He flustered Beno Udrih and kept Reggie Jackson in front of him. He's definitely gaining confidence.

His first shift in the first half when Detroit was still in the game was more impressive than his second shift in the second half.

Let's see if he can do it two nights in a row. Perfect timing if you ask me - word is out that Mack pretty much can't guard anyone. They're running right at him the moment he walks on the court.

Exum is soft (or at least truly passive), very inexperienced and is coming from a major injury - one which still bothers him. It is very unlikely that he'll all of the sudden have an epiphany and think "Ohmygod! I've been doing this all wrong! From now on my focus and mindset will be completely different!"

By the end of october someone started a thread titled "That moment when Exum 'got it'". Well... the kid didn't "get" anything! He is what he is and will change only by small increments, as most people do. One can only hope that he changes enough to merit a regular place on the team. So far, he barely belongs in the league.

My bet is that he will remain utterly unreliable throught this season. Next season, though, we'll find out for good if he will become a dynamic playmaker or remain a passive spot up shooter.
