Horny could do wonders to his awfully-flat jumpshot. Lets lock this guy up, post-haste.

If we don't keep this guy, I'll lose all faith in the Jazz brass... 19 points in Sacramento, and the guy made some NICE passes. He showed way better basketball skills and court vision at PG than I've EVER seen out of Ronnie Price!

I like weaver. not a bad option at all as a back-up point/combo guard. he looked a little out of control at times vs. LA but that was probably due to first game jitters. i was impressed with him tonight.

I'll rep this even if you did see my post in the game thread.

I certainly want to see more of him.

Haha i didnt, theyre eeriely similar. I used to have a really similar stroke in HS and i sorta notice it in his freethrows/ when he shortarmed it a few times though; ill give your props for catching it before hand though. As far as Hornacek helping with shooting, we have seen improvements with millsap. CJs stroke looks a bit better too than it did last year. I think our bad shooting should be attributed more to our inconsistent players than to our shooting coach.

Kirilenko improved under Hornacek. Korver did, too.

Has he been playing mainly the point for us? How many of his 7 makes were jumpers? Finding a decent backup guard at the end of the season before entering draft mode would be about as good an ending to the season as we could hope for right now.

I honestly didn't know we were playing today, but I did see a bit of him last game and liked what I saw.

Let's sign him!

Isn't it amazing the Jazz can get someone from the D league and make some most of the team look like crap in comparison. Only a few days with the Jazz and he already looked better than Raja, AK, CJ, and Price. I think his size alone would be great because he could play both backcourt positions.

More proof it's all about the contract.

I'm usually pro-player; but whatever comes out of the lockout, I hope they set up some guidelines for terminating contracts in the NBA like in the NFL. Perhaps they can create some sort of "scrub" classification where players who play less than "X" number of minutes and have less than "X" years of NBA experience can be cut from a team with limited financial hit to the franchise and no salary cap ramifications. It would give guys like Weaver and Cousin a better chance to move up while creating more competition from the bottom third of the talent pool in the league.

Weaver played a great game. It would be nice to be able to keep him next year if we could get rid of Raja. He would be another nice young peace in this rebuild.
