Chicago SHOULD trade Jimmy Butler; and we SHOULD be there with the right package.

getting butler on his long-term deal for anyone not named hayward or gobert would be a coup. exum, favors, hood, picks, all available IMO.

Chicago's dream scenario is clearly getting a decent offer from a team like Utah then parlaying that to pressure Boston. If that doesnt work, I'm sure they just dont do any deal. I just see no logical reason to deal Butler when it's clear EVERYTHING wrong with that team is the fault of the GM. Fire the GM and fire Hoiberg (because that relationship is probably past the point of recovery). Get rid of Rondo. Go from there.

Lots of sense here, but that all adds up to 2 or 3 years of JB's prime where he has little chance of competing at the highest level. That's not a recipe for fixing what's broken. It also adds up to a declining asset. He's worth a lot right now.

In the OP I said that Chi SHOULD move him. I didn't say that they WOULD. They probably won't.
 
I agree if Chicago moves Butler it is for a rebuild and they are going to want young talent to rebuild around.

Exum, Lyles, hood maybe Burks are the young talents that would intrigue them. Favors I am not sure has that value but what do I know.

The draft picks the jazz have are not great either.

I'd give my left nut for someone like butler on the Jazz. Only players I wouldn't give up are hay and Rudy.
Anyone else if it could get it done.

Buter would turn us from a team that could get out the first round to a team that could get out of the second round. We should be willing to give up anyone not named Hill, Hayward, and Gobert for him. Sucks though because I think the Celtics could beat anything we can put out there.
