What's new

We should have been playing these kids a long time ago...

Seriously folks... Even if we were in the hunt for the 8th seed, we weren't going anywhere anyway... Well now out of the playoffs the Jazz are forced to play their young talent, and what do they do?? They snap a 17 game home winning streak for the Lakers...

I don't want to get ahead of myself here.. But Mr Heyward reminds me A LOT of a young Jeff Hornacek... The word is that Horny has been working with this guy in the gym and it's paid off big!

And how about Evans and Favors?? Sometimes you have to get these kids in and get them some minutes... A lot of these guys can't play effectively until they break a sweat for crying out loud...

Got to give credit to Corbin for having faith in the kids and keeping them in the ballgame... It was a nice game for him... I liked his substitutions, the adjustments on defense, etc... Got to give credit where it is due...

But on the same token, I have to wonder why he didn't play these guys earlier, even when we were in the hunt for the playoffs?? Seems like we could have gotten more out of these kids, they could have gotten rolling and maybe we could have made some noise in the playoffs...

I've never understood the "spoon feeding" philosophy with these rookies... Play them!

I don't know about kids, but these kids are kids, man. Kiddin' ya, kids will be kids. Naw, but you should learn how to spell that man's name.

Did you just insinuate that Hornacek... a coach for the Utah Jazz... was working with a kid on the Utah Jazz?

To me, I think Hayward's development is almost the opposite of Hornacek's. Upon entering the league, Hornacek was mostly a spot-up shooter on the Suns - until he gradually became more of a scorer - with his ability to put it on the floor and shoot his assortment of runners and floaters in the lane.

Hayward is more of a slasher, who needs to improve his perimeter shot. It's looking better, still a little streaky but tonight was definitely a great sign for the future.

you neg repped me for this? bitch

A little perspective is needed. For the first half of the season, Hayward was Kofous Sized lost on the floor. I think he's been brought along just fine. But I don't dispute that from February on we should have flipped his minutes with Bell's regardless of whether he started or not.

I look at Evans being where Hayward was when he started getting playing time. Not sure of himself, not assertive, trying not to make a mistake. I think that if he can be given the playing time the needed confidence could come and he could be a great player, maybe even a starter.

He's got a good jump shot. He seems to know what he's doing. He's off the charts on athletic ability.

He needs to stop thinking and play.

I was just talking about the kids, man. Just like the OP, it's all about the kids.

....yeah, why "think" on a basketball court. Just do whatever you "feel" like doing! You want to launch a 3 pointer? Who cares how much time is left on the 24 second clock!

I think we need to bring in a veteran next year. We have enough kids, do ya think Kidd will be available?

Are you being serious? Sorry cant tell if this is sarcastic. Kidd is losing it. One of worst shooters in the league now. He is 45 years old.

And to think... We wasted PT on Elson, AK, and Raja instead of Favors and Hayward.

It's a good thing that Elson, AK, and Raja are so young and can improve while Favors and Hayward are old and have no more room to grow...
