He plays terrible, he gets benched. He settles way too much for the first thing the defense gives him. You can read his body language from a mile away, that's why he gets benched.

He's instructed to take those open shots and if he turns them down he is also benched.
Either way wouldn't you have Exum playing "terrible" and learning opposed to Mack playing "terrible" but just being terrible?
Again, I doubt there is this much micromanaging. I'm sure Quin wants him to do something decisive. I doubt he would get benched if he passed up an open 3 and instead drove the ball to the rim to try and make a play. He probably would get benched if he got the ball open for a 3 and hesitated and just passed it out without making an aggressive play to take advantage of being open in some way.

Really?? Dantes year is the definition of micromanaging... He's been given ZERO opportunity to play with freedom this year.
His leash is that tight it's why he's always hunched over sucking in air!
This sounds like a lot of blaming other people for Dante's current shortcomings. The Jazz cant afford to hold Dante's hand this season. Go back and watch the games where Dante played well. He was passing up open 3's to penetrate. Then he goes back to just shooting the first thing the defense gives him because they are completely ignoring him rather than playing a token closeout. He has to treat those things the same and just drive it, at least on his first few possessions so he can get something positive going for himself.
That's hilarious. Let Dante unleash the beast Quin! Stop telling him to suck!

Dont get me wrong I'd be fine with benching Dante for someone who was actually productive. But if its a case of Mack or Neto v Exum not playing Exum is just stupid imo. Mack and Neto can't help this team in the playoffs whereas if Quin can bring Dante along he could really help us defensively.
I know Dante's development isn't the #1,2,3 or 4 priority of the Jazz this season but the last 2 games we lost regardless so whats the harm? Playing Exum as back up PG is not costing us games, being indecisive about who your back up PG is is.
No, Exum has cost us games, just look at his putrid numbers.
