What if Hayward doesn't re-sign?

I've been listening to different celtics podcasts
And they feel they have a chance

I think Hayward will go where he has the best
Chance to win a title. Even if that means
Leaving money on the table

IJizz ... you need to stop listening to fairy tales. next to zero chance he goes to Boston. Stop fretting.

If Hayward doesn't re-sign I'll drop like a 100point contingency plan that night on this forum. one thats pages long including several bulletted lists and numerous paragraphs.

In no way shape or form do I believe they'd "blow it up". They could make the playoffs without him in 2018, or at the very least play .500 ball.. The Jazz will have a ton of cap space if it happens..

Rudy's the biggest star here, don't forget it.

One of the absolute top priorities in lots of different scenarios would be re-signing Joe Ingles..

Despite peoples feelings, No one is irreplaceable - thats the truth.

I hate thinking about it. But what if Hayward decides to play elsewhere? What do the jazz do? Blow up the team and rebuild again? What do you guys think?

What if Hayward doesn't resign? Sheesh, I hope he doesn't resign because I really like that he plays for the Jazz

Yeah, I don't see why he'd quit. Pretty sure he loves playing basketball and the money ain't bad, neither. In fact, I wouldn't doubt if he re-signs.

If he leaves I'm prepared to be a whiny bitch

This board would be unbearable. Between the people saying I told you, the negative fans on here that like bad things to happen to the jazz and having abpg posting constantly his silly plans to set up for drafting someone in 2050 that will be 10x better than everyone we have ever had. The whining would be low on the list of annoyances.

Hayward aint leaving... he, his Camry, and Olive Garden habit are all about the money, and we can pay him an *** ton.

I wouldn't hold on too much to the fact that The Jazz can pay him the most.

He's already made a ton of money, and he'll probably get a another truck load of money AFTER the deal he signs in the off-season is up.

The guy wants to win - and if doesn't think it's happening in Utah he will go elsewhere.

Honestly, if Hayward left I would sell everyone on the team but Rudy, Exum, and Lyles. Tank for a season and pray for Michael Porter. Maybe keep Burks to be a first option because that would probably help the tank and increase his trade value.

Elsewhere, where he knows he'll win? That destination doesn't exist.

Boston would be an extremely nasty team with him. Look how great they are playing right now. We'd all by lying to ourselves if we said that wouldn't tempt us if we were in Hayward's shoes. Bigger market, coach you know, great team, and in an easier conference.

You'd go into next year with a starting lineup of:

Exum
Hood
Somebody we draft this year
Lyles
Gobert/Bolomboy

Then just fill the rest of the roster out with draft picks and young players. It'd be sad, but probably the best move.

Actually, I'd keep Hood and trade Burks now that I think about it.

No way they start a rookie over Joe Johnson... Even if Hill and Hayward walk the Jazz are at least a 40-win team, none are as good as Hayward and Otto Porter is obviously off the table since he's leading the league in 3pt%..

There's way more viable scenarios than that lineup you just posted.

Even in the event both leave. Utah will still be a good spot for free agents at the PG and SF spots because the system in place and they're all well aware of the other pieces in place here, mainly Rudy and Quinn...

Jrue Holiday and Gallinari... lets say they're the replacements and stay healthy.. the Jazz could win 50-games, if Favors is back to 100% and playing like he's in a contract year.

This pains me to read. It'll be another dark era of jazzfanz .

No it'd make for the best drama seen on jazzfanz in years. The team would wildly out-perform the doomsayers predictions if shrewd moves are made.

You can't seriously tell me that this isnt a decent playoff team in the west next year;

Holiday - Exum - Burks/Neto
Hood - Burks - Exum - (Ingles??) - draft pick??
Gallinari - Joe Johnson - Hood/Burks - draft pick
Favors - Lyles - Johnson/Gallinari/Bolomboy - draft pick
Gobert - draft pick - Bolomboy

Lets say they pay Gallo and Holiday 39MM combined that 105MM between 11 players not counting the draft picks or Ingles - and there's actually still room for him..

So Cp3 and Griffin both have player options. Ballmer is insanely rich. Could the Clippers go after Hayward and then sign their current stars to new deals? Scary

How many years has Hayward played for Quin? You think he "knows" Boston's coach and that's a reason to go there over staying here, playing for a coach he's been with even longer?

Boston is a good team. Do they have a better shot at going to the finals than the Jazz? I don't really know, but it's not like a clear upgrade for him.

Bigger market but a smaller contract. I'd call that a wash.

Celtics have a way better chance to get to the finals. Hayward would be crazy good paired with IT

Also seems Westbrook was quite chummy with Hayward

These are good and interesting thoughts and they don't suggest tanking
