Lillard available?

This thread makes me sad. Now I'm going to be all sorts of butthurt tomorrow afternoon when we don't make a trade that had a 0% chance of happening to begin with.

This debate is as stupid as the Harden debate a few years ago. Yes, if OKC wants Kanter and Hayward for Harden, YOU DO IT.

Stars win games here. Not a bunch of role players. Go get stars. That is the hard part. It is easy to find role players. It is near IMPOSSIBLE to get a player of Lillard's level. We had a shot with Harden and sat on our hands. Don't be stupid again. Go get Lillard. Especially if you can keep Gobert.

Lillard and Gobert would be as good as any duo in the league. They win you 50 games a year.

Don't be dumb. Go get Lillard.

Lillard may be the worst defender at the PG position in the league. Especially at getting through a screen.

I'm for giving up the farm for Butler since he is a 2-way player but Lillard isn't a "no-brainer". Lillard is an extremely talented offensive player, extremely, but also is in the most stacked position in the league and is a REAL liability on defense. You can't hide him when you play two good guards (which most teams have).
 
Hey green, if stars win games and Hayward/Gobert duo is guilty because they have never won 44, how do you explain Utah on pace for 50+ and Lillard/McCollum for 35 (or less).

Clearly supporting cast matters. Favors, Hood and 2 firsts would be a fair price. To "throw in" an all-star (Hayward) is laughable. You undervalue Hayward and overvalue Lillard.

Also, ANY lineup with Hill as the SG is destined to fail. He was used that way in Indiana. Take the ball out of his hands and you may as well trade him.

I'd do the same for Butler. Both players elevate you to contender status. I think the draw for Lillard is that he wouldn't be trying to get out of here first chance he got.

You'd have Hayward, Gobert and Lillard for as long as you wanted.

Uhh, Hill was very successful off ball in Indy. He might not like it and certainly wouldn't re-sign, but it would be effective.

Of course supporting cast matters. Don't be obtuse. If you want to make the playoffs, you need a team. If you want to win a title, you need a star.

Hayward isn't a star. Gobert is a lot closer than I ever dreamed possible. So, there are currently two stars available. One star gives you the chance to keep Hayward and Gobert (Lillard).

Go get him.

As far as Hill goes, if I have to trade him to bring in Lillard, I trade him. In fact, I traded him in my other crazy *** thread post. Hill is a very, very, very nice player. Lillard is better.
 
We have Gobert, they don't. Get Lillard if you can. It's easier for us to hide him.
