What's new

Sources: Utah has expressed interest in re-acquring Deron Williams

Just wait... one year we will pay luxury tax... not this year... not next year but soon. So much luxury tax... Millers likely have to sell all dealerships just to foot the bill. You wait.

Being the resident expert on the CBA, I'm sure you're aware of the repeat offender penalties, which I'm quite sure Utah won't pay, so there is a window of 2 years max that they will pay the LT. Therefore, the sooner they pay it, the sooner they have to start cutting to get back under. The way the team is currently built, they are on track to pay the LT after next season. Hide and watch.

Let me guess, Jazz didn't make a move because they are cheap? Funny thing is, now they still have room to get a Hill extension done, so maybe they just didn't have anything on the table they felt was worth jeopardizing that.

Anyway, far be it from me to stop the annual bitch fest of KOC, er DL sitting on his hands.

Carry on.

I'm not bitching, btw. These are just check points on your theory. I want to believe you.

Also, I see the can-kicking phrase.

We need help at the 1 and the 4. And we are at the salary floor. Would you agree that making no moves would be dumb?

And it makes more sense for jazz to wait and see what Hill does. If we can't get Hill back, go after Dwill. That's probably why we reached out to him, just to let him know we have interest for next year

Hey D Will we have interest... not enough interest to bring you back now while saving $2M but we do have interest. If our other options don't work out we'd love to have you as a plan B. Talk to ya soon big guy.

Basically everyone has said the Hill extension is not happening.

We got no value for our cap space... again. Forgive me if I am not worshiping at the alter of DL and the Millers for their long-term perspective.

Also, we are below the floor... below it. I can basically guarantee we spend up to the floor which will actually result is us paying actual dollars that are lower than the floor... while we are in a playoff race.

bro bro bro, nobody here is asking them to make moves that get them anywhere near LT territory sooner than necessary.

Best Buy rumors are that he's currently in town . . .

(Heard on a Facebook thread.) No idea if true, but it makes sense since he has no need to be in Dallas.

Doing nothing (or essentially nothing) would be damning evidence, IMO.

Yeah, its called keeping up relationships with agents/player.

Okay fine... why didn't we do one of the other deals? Look... we are good but we have clear needs and could have addressed some needs without hurting the asset base really at all. We have too many second round picks to actually use... we sell them... everyone applauds. We operate at the floor... everyone applauds.

Well I won't applaud... sorry. I realize no move makes us a contender, but you would make literally no moves if that were the case. We could have improved and punted... again.
