Following potential 2017 draftees...

25-4-4-2blk-2stls in victory vs Duke for Bruce Brown! Playing like a 1st rd pick and making me look bad for dropping him out of the mock.

Eric Mika can probably get drafted this year after that phenomenal performance. I'd peg him at about #53 on the mock I posted yesterday. I could see him ending up in the 40's tho.

Gotta say I really don't think they pull that upset off if the Zags have a healthy Tillie. They absolutely crumbled down the stretch tho.

No doubt in my mind that BYU could upset some team in the 1st rd of the NCAA tourney. They're balanced. Haws and Emery are a legit backcourt. Mika's an NBA player and Childs is a very solid 4-star recruit.

Holy hell Lavar Bell is making it impossible for me to root for his kid(s). Dude is gonna be a major PITA for any NBA HC and franchise.

On another note, why is Leaf so low? Defensive concerns? Athletic mediocrity? I know it's a killer draft but the dude measured 6'8.75" without shoes, has a 6'11" wingspan, and 8'11.75" standing reach. That's not amazing but it's really, really solid for a 4. In comparison, Draymond has a 7'1.25" which is significantly longer but only an 8'9" standing reach which is significantly shorter.

He is also scoring 16.8 points on 63.1% from the floor (killer), including 46.2% on 1.8 3's per game which isn't high volume but it's killer efficiency, with 8.7 rebounds (solid) and 2.6 assists (very solid for a frosh big).
So what gives? Could he be viable insurance for Favors and fit Quin's system better? Is he redundant to Lyles? As much as I bet, I've not seen more than a couple minutes of UCLA this year.

LaVar is very very smart.. No doubt there's valuable lessons to be learned re-tracing his steps.. also there's no doubt in my mind that he's a master motivator and a damn good marketing hype guy...

What he's done has flown over heads to the point where there's many adults with fury and vitirol pointed in the direction of the teenage sons.. There was all sorts of adults celebrating their loss to Mater Dei the other night..

I don't think he's gonna be a major pain inthe *** either unless Lonzo or LaMelo lands in a completely awful situation and it's warranted. I think he'll recognize he's done enough to prep them for the NBA and have more of an approach of a 'normal parent'. Though Im certain reporters will be trying to goad him for shocking statements all the time.

There's articles on the Ball's covering the alternative style of play and training methods, quite simply people choose to fill in their own details and judge based off that.. Part of the reason I'm sure things have become misconstrued is because the story covers a topic that I've found people are usually uncomfortable talking about, which is the fear of failure.

Now I'm not saying LaVarr is the most likeable guy it's obvious how he could come across as pompous..

What I'm saying is the brothers shouldn't be judged on that. Lonzo seems to be the least like him of all the brothers, now the others are younger so he's at an advantage. He seems pretty down to earth for a teenager thats pretty much already a star.. He knows all the right answers to the questions he'll get too, deflects to his teammates like a star..

Leaf isn't redundant with Lyles he's got legit SF potential. He reminds of Kyle Singler, who fooled me and many others back in the day so I'm weary. At this point I like Rodions Kurucs better - Thats the same from the last update a month ago tho, he hasn't really dropped he was 26th and is now 28th after Anunoby and Anigbogu reemerged.

I'm very interested to see how Leaf measures and shoots for teams in workouts. Same for Lydon, IMO Lydon is the best 3pt shooter and Kurucs is the best natural SF.

After further review I'ma go on the record and say Keion Brooks Jr. will be better than Hayward. He's from Indiana too. UK would be crazy to not recruit this kid. Him and Scottie Lewis on the wing would be unreal.

Already has offers from Xavier, Purdue, KSU and Michigan St.

2020 draft is going to be absolutely loaded on the wing, even if the #1 player in the class RJ Barrett reclassifies up a year and goes in the 2019 draft.

You're hate for Hayward is so hilarious and well documented. I guess you didn't learn from your past mistakes and want to continue to eat crow in the future.

Well Leaf is a full inch taller than Singler and much better in his freshman year. Also there were some red flags on Singler like that 23" standing vertical which is about as low as you'll find on any NBA player.

What exactly have I been wrong about if it's so well documented? Humor us. They've achieved upper-class mediocrity in a top-heavy league with him. that's it.

Is Brooks not further along than Hayward at the same stage??? I've only said Gordon's expendable and replaceable which is what I think about every player... I think Rudy's the most difficult piece to replace on the roster, if thats ridiculous to you than so be it.

lets hear this revisionist history..

Surely it will reveal that I was wrong to consider a multitude of opportunities instead of just gleefully going along with the status quo.. Be sure to start with my suggestions of signing DeRozan(and Aminu for pennies on the dollar) and Jeff Teague before the Trey Burke setback.

The jury is still out on any of the young SF's I've brought up that I think are better talents; Giannis, Michael Porter Jr., R.J. Barrett, Ingram, Isaac, Tatum, Zion Williamson, Sekou Doumbouya and DJ Jeffries...

Like I said before; Hayward isn't 80% of the player KD is, so why is paying him the same kind of $$ going to help dethrone the Warriors when they have a better surrounding cast as well..

There's no doubt he's a better prospect than Singler, they're just similar. I have a friend whos a former pro that played against Singler (and spencer hawes / other high ranked players that year) in a summer camp showcase who I discuss this with, he's wishy-washy..

This draft is tough to peg, once the withdrawals/declarations happen things will be MUCH clearer for some of the fringe 1st rd prospects.

I think Leaf is gonna declare and stay in, I can't tell where just yet but I know he's good enough to go in the 1st. I can't put him over Lydon at this point tho, who's more of a classic 3-and-d player.
