TBH I'm worried about where the Jazz will end up in the playoffs

The Jazz have one of the hardest remaining schedules of the top 7 west playoff teams. They currently are on the wrong side of tiebreakers against Memphis (1-3), the Thunder (1-2), and the Clippers (0-2). All four of these teams are going to end with close records it looks like. I'm worried that we are going to fall to 7th or something sad like that....

Anywhere we play we are going to have to nut up and win. Regular season records dont matter once you are in the playoffs (after seeding ofc)

We stomp the hottest home team in the NBA then the next game we lose by 3 after a team had a historic 3pt shooting run and all the sudden we are back to not being able to beat any good teams the world is over.

I am hoping for the 3rd or 4th seed. Yes we have a hard schedule but I hope they even p those tiebreakers and just keep winning.

dear lord pls stfu

Why should he STFU? He expresses a legit concern. The Jazz' seeding is by no means assured. It is not an unrealistic outcome (and indeed has a good chance of happening) that the Jazz slipp down to the 5th, 6th or 7th seed. I'm concerned about it too, as I'd rather, all else equal, have a higher seed (and 4th in particular) than a lower seed, and home court if we can get it. Sure, the Jazz will have to 'nut up' and win a series, but series' are all about matchups, and the likelihood of winning a series is strongly a function of who you're playing. Who do we match up best against, GS, SA, Houston or LA? Personally, I'd take LA and/or Houston, in fact, I think we'd match up best against Houston, so I don't mind a slip to the 6th seed, but we definitely want to avoid SA in Round 1, I think.

Just my opinion.

Idc where we finish, as long as it's in teh playoffs. Anyone can get this 1st round dick. Actaully, I'd probably rather finish with teh 8th seed now more than any other seed besides 1st.

If KD is injured, then I'd wanted to play GSW as early as possible before he gets healthy in teh later rounds of the playoffs.

We've been playing really well since all star break, OKC's game included. If anything, I'm more confident about this team's chances than before the break.

It doesn't matter who we play, we are going to make a first round exit. We will be playing against a team with playoff experience, and we will lose.

That happens to every team that are playoff virgins. If the Jazz make it out of the second round it'll be nothing less than a miracle.

I tend to agree. I don't forsee us getting out of the first round, although I do think our chances are better if we play LA or Houston. I'm hopeful, but not too optisimtic. In any case, I want a competitive series not some 4 or 5 and done.

Dante might still be a virgin as he's barely hit puberty.

I think with or without home court it's a likelihood the Jazz lose in the 1st round. Success, for me, would be winning a couple of games. Anything beyond that is gravy, IMO.

But I think the Spurs fear us. We did beat them handily earlier this year, and come playoff time, we should be a lot stronger, at least a lot healthier than we were then (especially if Favors rounds into form). I think Hill will know how to exploit them, and that is exactly what happened in that game. Hill is better than Parker now. Diaw also will be an asset against them.

This whole thread reeks of loser mentality bros. Happy with a win or two? Really!? Have a little more fun and expectations. It's a lot better take. If the players have the same thoughts as this thread this team will never amount to anything...ever, and thankfully I don't think they do.

who gives a flying trapdoodle where we finish, it'll be in the playoff and we just compete our guts out with whoever. Even if we're playing well there's every chance we'll get bumped in the first round, very few teams progress quicker than getting into the playoffs to start with. Look at Boston

I bet Gordon Hayward gives a flying crapadoodle. Barely in and an early out not as cool as home court advantage and the 2nd round.

I think the Jazz are better than Memphis and would win that matchup in 6. Conley and Randolph really have to bring their A game to beat us.

OKC really relies entirely on Westbrook to create offense. I'd be surprised if he can carry a team through a 7-game series with the Jazz throwing every scheme imaginable at him.

Clippers or Rockets, it's hard to tell where that series would go.

I disagree. It's certainly possible we lose a first round series. You make a good point about playoff virgin teams losing. However, I wouldn't say the Jazz will lose with certainty. We have a top defensive team that's built for a playoff style of basketball. I think we can win series depending on seed and opponent. Especially if we have homecourt.

Overall though I'm not worried about our seed or the outcome of these playoffs. I'm more focused on one, two, three years down the road and how the Jazz FO builds a champion. I could give a s*** about playoffs. Let's think bigger.
