Time to kill DST

I think it was under the Obama administration that DST longer. *looks* No it was Bush. https://www.timetemperature.com/tzus/daylight_saving_time_extended.shtml

You can skip DST as a state. You CAN'T skip ST.

Pretty much dealing semantics when the "standard" is less than half the time.

Either way, time to stop it altogether. Get rid of DST. Go to daylight time or standard time or split the difference, move the whole country up a half hour and call it good. Who gives a ****. The point is stop changing the time on everyone. It is legacy ******** that is pointless and more negative than positive by every single objective measure.

Except it's not semantics. Standard time is based on UTC or GMT (both the same in practice), and the time zones are based on geography. Daylight savings was created long after standard time existed.

The argument NOW is that people want that extra evening hour of daylight (You want 7:00 sunsets in May?)in especially late spring/early fall, and want their children going to school in daylight in the winter. Can't have both without changing the time.

It is still arbitrary. It was a decision to 1)use GMT in the first place and 2)select a time offset that each country can pretty much choose on their own. With modern means to track time we are limiting ourselves based on outdated technology and standards. So like I said, split the difference. Move us forward 1/2 hour and call it good. But, objectively, changing time twice a year is nothing but bad.
