What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

I'm still ecstatic that we didn't end up drafting Devon Booker after his 70 points today on over 50% shooting...... it's not like we needed a consistent shooter like that
Fffffaarrrkkk even half of jazzfanz wanted Booker over Lyles.
The main names we left on the board are
Booker
RHJ
Portis
All 3 I wanted more than Lyles.
Wish pacers didn't choose mules turner ahead of us either.
The lad is a machine.... turner backing up Rudy would be amazing.
Then again, Booker was the ideal choice and our FO blew it.
God I hope they either choose the absolute best shooter still available this draft and the most athletic big still around with some kind of offensive capacity

To be fair, Lonzo didn't guard Fox most of the time from what I remember

He can't hang with Fox.. As they say in sports "Speed Kills"... U really look at it objectively UCLA was much bigger and longer and had a massive advantage inside but Fox, Monk and Hawkins saved the dayy..

That type of speed/acceleration is almost like Rudy's type of length/shotblocking, U just can't simulate it in practice..

In all honesty if the Jazz got Hamidou DIallo with the 25th pick that might be the BPA.. All signs point to him returning, If I was him I'd test the water tho..

Lol@ any moron who evaluates a player for good or bad based on one game. Ball defended Fox just fine. He also defended Monk pretty well. They played a lot of zone and both guys scored a bunch against that zone or when defended by other players.

Having said that, Fox is great. While Ball has better potential to change the fortunes of a team going nowhere, Fox isn't chopped liver. Whoever gets either guy is going to be very pleased.

Y'all think LAvar's gonna give Lonzo the 'Baby Boy' treatment??

I just picture this for about a week straight..

"how you gonna let fox embarass BBB like that"

That was a bad showing from Jonathan Motley last night.. sheesh.. Chris Silva is on the map.. I'd consider him in the late 40's.

He's the best prospect from Gabon ever. There was a player who was on the heat for a few games in 07-08 but thats it.

UNC's Justin Jackson is on the rise in the mocks too. Taking over Kennards spot as the first wing after T-Ferguson.

Yesterday was some display of floaters across all the games.. Jackson might have the most reliable one in the nation.

Also monster game from KeVaughn Allen, If he were an inch or 2 taller would get WAY more hype.

Also, I'd take Jeanne with one of the Jazz picks in a heartbeat

Wont hear any argument from me.. Look at this ****(from just the other day).. This kid is truly coordinated for a giant..

U can see in the stillframe his body has matured plenty over the last 2 years or so..

Lets be real tho Lonzo's defense on Fox was not fine. There's reasons why, very legitimate ones.

It really wasn't all that good in the 1st matchup either.

To make a long story short tho is it something ya kill him for on draft stock? no..

Lonzo Ball is not Jason Kidd defensively.. no way..

This will be taken out of context but really what he is, is like Michael Carter-Williams, but 35X more potent.

What De'Aaron Fox is, is a whole nother animal tho.. been trying to ya'll this kid is rare as they come..

I've looked years ahead too and there's no one like him. High-conviction on this, he's a lefty too which really multiplies the scarcity factor.. (same goes for Marvin Bagley and Zion Wiillamson).

He's gotta be one of the most appropriately named athletes ever too..

De'Aaron "Master of the hunt" Fox

He'll have many nicknames but I've settled on one for him..

Classic pack leader that can also take over and do it all himself.. This is the player you want at the helm, the spearhead if you will.

The way he plays has a cumulative attrition effect on the game, he wears teams down.

I'm really starting to believe the way he plays is more conducive to winning NBA basketball than lets say a Derrick Rose..

Ball has shown me enough on defense that if if he will commit to it, he can be elite. His instincts combined with, defensive iq and athleticism can make him great.

Bam got absolutely trashed last night. Is there any question that Anigbogu is a better prospect anymore?? I think not.

Now that being said UCLA was much bigger and much longer than UK. The rest of the matchups in the entire tournament lineup better for him.

UNC is gonna throw the kitchen sink at him too but their players aren;t like Anigbogu who's just absurdly athletic..

Anigbogu might actually go flying up my board.. Now that Williams is gone, I've got no issue saying he's got lottery talent/upside..

I'd contend that Anigbogu is just as strong, if not stronger than Bam, clearly he's much longer thats; not even debatable, he's more explosive/twitchy, and projects as a better rebounder and defender..

He might actually have a claim at that most athletic big in the draft title(that Robert Williams vacated) .

Bam has some more polish in some area's I actually trust his FT shooting more.

Bam vs Ike in some type of imperfect odd way reminds me of how I used to compare Steven Adams to Kanter years back here.

Gyorgy Goloman is on the NBA radar for sure. He's got a 7'6" wingspan or something like that. Great find for them. Nasty dunk over Humprhries.

Thomas Welsh once again shows his quality, even tho he didn;t get that baseline shot much and he actually missed one. When he got the 3rd foul with 13 to go as a UK fan I was very pleased.

Gabriel made hustle play after hustle play in hs limited minutes. Humphries too.

That game was unquestionably one of the best college showdowns I've ever seen in the tournament.

Goloman is definitely intriguing. He's long and skilled. Has a chance to be pretty good.

Not sure what to think of Anigbogu. In terms of size, strength and athleticism he reminds me of Webber at Michigan. Just wish he were more productive. For a guy with those tools and a good motor, he should do more.
