I don't think Briscoe is a legit NBA prospect.
Good college player but his shot will never be legit and his althleticism is terrible
Agree. What's the deal with Bam? Why is he falling down draft boards? What am I missing?

Can you be more specific what you mean by athleticism?
Can't jump.
How's his defense navigating screens, how tight is his dribble and how good can he change speed?
Shifty and tight with his dribble. Navigates traffic really well.
I'm just concerned he gets his shots blocked at the rim.
From my POV, I'm not really that concerned if my poing guard doesn't have Westbrook hops. Plenty of ways to create a good timing where defenders have a hard time contesting.
That leads to my next question: Why does he turn it over that much, if his dribble is tight? Just questionable decision making where he sees plays that aren't there? I think statistically it's really hard not to be excited about the improvement in his shooting. +26% on free throws, while attempting 5 per game. Being in the 70s on free throws is usually a range where you're confident that a player doesn't have stone hands. His improved 3 point accuracy on a smaller sample size is also a really good sign that he's making progress and hope that he isn't done - You usually don't go from Andre Drummond stone hands to LeBron James shaky, streaky jump shooting within 6 months with more growth in that area being unrealistic.
If I'm an NBA team and he's available in a range where the high upside guys are gone, I'm giving him a hard look. If you can get a point guard with a limited toolbox and have your reliable ball handlers on the wing, which is becoming more common these days, it's a real tease.
The market inefficiency at point guard is that there are so many guys getting max contracts, even though they're not even the best at the position. Point guard is so deep.
If I have Briscoe on a rookie deal for 4 years and can extend him for 15/yr after that(assuming max of 30), and he's giving me a relative return of 70-75% of what top tier PGs do, then I have more capspace for positions with a more limited talent pool, aka skilled big wings.
All I'd need Briscoe to do is be a good ADHD Point Guard, like a more skilled version of Beverly/Dellavedova. Just make it tough on the opposing PG to score for 35 min/game and keep moving offensively. If Briscoe develops a 40% spot up/C&S accuracy from 3, someone like Chris Paul has to invest so much energy into chasing him around. With his positive development, I'd consider investing 4 years into his development and see where he getts.

PKM is right and DX is wrong, Briscoe's not a legit NBA prospect, I can produce a long list of more deserving PG's. Those with a palate for his style of play should redirect thei attention to De'Anthony Melton. Avery Bradley is/Was a vastly superior prospect to Briscoe had away more reliable midrange game, better quicks and explosion
Briscoe's style of play an build is like a rugby player trying to impersonate Eric Bledsoe.
Some fringe 2nd rd PGs Id prefer are; Derrick White, Joel Berry, Nigel Williams-Goss, Michael Weathers, Duron Carter, Jeremy Hemsley,Jalen Adams,Jaylen Adams, Jerome Robinson, Melo Trimble, Abdoulaye N'Doye, Elie Okobo, Edmond Sumner, Marcus Foster, Bryant Crawford, a number of 4* Freshman should they declare early,Matt Farrell, and ican keep going but,you get the point.Even take Frank Mason who im not a fan of....
2 promising c/o 2018 4*'s to watch for Jairus Hamilton (reminds me of Harrison Barnes) from SC and Reggie Perry from GA.
Theres also an interesting unranked 6'10 big UConn and UL are after graduating HS this year, Chieck Mbackwe Diong who looks like a legit pro prospect.
BTP - Briscoe suffers thru fits of tunnel-vision which destroys his ast to ratio.
Cy - Okogie's legit. I always knew Pastner was getting a bad rap, he's in contention for COY. Maten might be this years Pascal Siakam, he seems to be top40 and rising.
Stitches - Bam's stock is dropping rapidly in my book,Ive got him like 29th. His particular set of skills are not as advanced or reliable or frankly rare as recently advertised. I'm actually starting to question how much better he is than Drew Eubanks or Jeanne. At this stage his game is kind of gimmicky --- think about how he'd do vs Rudy
