What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

I think now with the benefit of hindsight u'd have to say the loss of Jonah Bolden hurt UCLA's title chances.. He shot 42% from 3 this season as a pro.

Offense wasn't UCLA's problem, they couldn't get stops defensively

Bolden averages a block and a steal vs pro's and especially if he played SF he'd been able to provide more helpside shotblocking and more of a height/length advantage.. He patrols the upper atmosphere in college basketball terms..

Certainly it was in his best interests to leave the program tho... not saying otherwise.

Major sleeper from Senegal. Mentioned Cheikh Mbacke before when offers from big-name schools were pouring in. He chose UNLV on the strength of the African connection with Menzies and the fact that he got Pascal Siakam drafted in the 1st at NMSU.. Supposed to be young enough to be in the nxt years class too.

Looks like the next Chris Silva (at South Carolina) or even better.

Why is Anigbogu on almost none of the common draft sites mock drafts? Do they figure he's not entering the draft? I like him defensively. I'm not sure he's a good fit for the Jazz though. He's raw and limited on offense which isn't ideal next to Rudy which could limit him to a backup role of 14-15 minutes per game. There may be better options for us.

He is 10th next year in DX mock draft, so he is on the sites.

Marcus Marshall really has nice tools to be an explosive scorer. Utah would be smart to grab him with their final pick, definitely more potent offensively than Olivier Hanlan.

Lemme predict he's gunna get VERY high scores in those NBA teamworkouts, and with the way the Jazz get so many players to workout he'll be in for sure, maybe even 2x. I'm not gonna say Damien Lillard but he's gonna crush the shooting drills. I watched Nevada plenty this year and he bombed away in every single game, when I first posted about him.

He likes flailing his legs out on those contested jumpers. Warding off defenders like a porcupine.

I never saw him play until today, Thornwell's defense and game awareness was pretty good. SO is the knock on him his shooting?

Looks awesome

I'm convinced Thornwell is the most Wesley Matthews prospect since Wesley Matthews.

I can see what you mean there sure is a lot of similarities there. Today he finished with another impressive line so you gotta figure his stock is going up... But remember how Wes would beat everyone down the floor and have the athleticism to be able to finish through contact. I wonder if Thornwell can get to that level athletically.

Solid showings from Justin JAckson and UNC's bigs. Jacksons done enough to enter the fringe lottery despite his frailty.

Tony Bradley was particularly effective in his limited minutes. Bam showed well in the 1st half but I thought Bradley outplayed him when they were both in the game.

I kinda wish Gabriel got more burn.. If he's in the game that last possession and guarding Maye I'm confident he would've at least contested the game-winner.

Isaac Humphries with a tremendous showing, he was awesome this game.

Too little too late from Monk..

Gorjok Gak got burn in every game for Florida this tourney. He's not a 2017 draftee or maybe not even 2018. He looks like a legit 6'11" and long tho. Aussie bigman (by way of Sudan) worth keeping an eye on.

Luke Maye seems to be on a trajectory where he could improve to being a 2nd rd pick.. I doubt he can guard anyone but he's got an interesting amount of utility on offense.
