I see exactly what Cy is seeing with Kuzma. The problem is that the idea of him right now is much better than the reality of him. He does some things that players in the top 10 can't do. His movement is incredibly smooth for his size. His shot is quick and comes out of his hand seamlessly... it looks like it should be going in. He seems to have good feel and good passing and can even playmake a bit.
The problem is... we've seen this before, haven't we? Smooth, but not explosive athlete, whose shot looks good but doesn't fall, and is bad on D? I'm not sure how much I believe in the good-looking shot to become a good shot. Just like with Lyles, his whole game depends on it. If he can't hit it, he's out of the rotation very quickly.
I think he has more game than Lyles. Lyles problem was he was forced to play out of position in college then in the NBA he has been forced to be a stretch 4 despite never being a 3pt shooter previously. Like I pointed out earlier, he is a better per minute rebounder than Bam Adebayo. I think Kuzma is more than just a 3pt shooter.
