Joe Johnson's Winning Shot

Thought I'd post this here in case you're bored today and want to watch this over, and over, and over again.

Also notice how clever/savvy Joe Ingles is there. Originally Blake was on JJ and Jamaal Crawford was on Ingles, Ingles straight away sets the screen and made sure that they switched the coverage (noticed how he 'stayed' on Blake long enough for the switch), and puts Crawford on JJ.

JJ now goes against the much smaller Crawford and was able to do what he did.

Again - credit DL for bringing in the savvy vet in Ingles, and it's paying dividends years later in a crucial moment in the game.

The thing going unnoticed is how Crawford was forced into DJordan...it looks like he's about to at least get a finger tip on it but Crawford takes out his midsection.

That's good point, but then again had Crawford not been there and had it been 1-on-1 between JJ and DeAndre, JJ could have just pulled up for a 10 footer jumper anyway.

Also notice how Favors didn't even go in the middle or in the paint area. He went straight to the right far side, leaving the middle for JJ to go to work.

It must be a play that they've worked on in practice, clearing that whole left/middle quadrant to let JJ operate.

Its just called common sense. Isolation play you just get out of the way

I'd just realized something, this has to be the single best moment ever since Jerry Sloan retired, right?!?!

Wow nice observation on ingles forcing Blake to switch off JJ, what a p!ayer I have so much respect for the Aussie. He dominated JJ redick on both ends of the court - he's the clippers nightmare!! To think they cut him, one of the highest bball IQs around dude may a future Jazz coach. Here's to locking him up long term we should breed him with Gobert

What a play. ISO JOE and Slow mo Joe. Both high basketball minds. I can't believe they cut Ingles. The guy is smart. Really smart!

This is actually all on Blake when you watch it carefully. He doesn't try to fight to the screen at all, even though it should be obvious why the Jazz are looking for the switch. Then at about 5.0 left you see him unconvincingly step towards JJ but then just as halfheartedly step back towards Ingles just as JJ drives to the hoop. Then he makes a lazy attempt to swipe the ball entirely too late.

To me, this is the biggest moment since winning game 7 in Houston. Getting to the 2nd round would be a huge deal with where the team is at and Hayward about to be a UFA.

When your defensive strategy is to switch it's hard to not switch, especially with no timeout. He might try to fight through and JC isnt on the same page and it leaves Ingles, a top NBA shooter, wide open.

What about that big OT win against the Wolves at the end of the 13-14 season? You know, the one when Corbin decided to give a bunch of our lotto balls to the Celtics for no reason?

:-/

Im pretty confident hayward is going to resign here how could he not?
