Round 1 Game 2 Utah Jazz at L.A. Clippers 8:30pm MDT

For the Jazz ,my biggest fear is they can't score enough points even when they had Gobert.The veteran presence of JJ,Diaw,Hill and Ingles keeps the Jazz games close but they don't score enough to create big worries for the Clippers defense to fear. Toss in only 15 assists to 13 turnovers for the Jazz and the Jazz offense is being squeezed tighter.Jazz need some spark on offense.

It's always the downside of not playing through a 'proper' pg IMO.

Hill is being used as a SG/Combo guard who looks for his own shot a lot.

Last night was THE best time to play Exum. We already stole game 1. Even if we lose game 2, we have homecourt. So when we come out as flat as we did, why not give Exum a shot? Plain stupid in my opinion.

A little stubborn and inflexible too.

I hope X agent calls Q's (maybe DL) bluff here. Asks for an extension on the basis the Jazz want him long term. If they won't offer something pretty measly - say 4/40 mill, then X has his answer about Q's long term plans.

X should find out their plans - start putting feelers out for potential suitors who will commit to him being a pg.
 
The Clips came out fired up. Impressive that we were able to keep this game somewhat close given their dominance inside. We need to get DJ in foul trouble and put him on the FT line.

I just find it extremely disappointing. Some guys are relative nonfactors in the season yet create a very strong presence in the postseason. Guys like Austin Croshere, Dellavadova, and even Robert Horry to a certain extent and many more marginal season guys excel in the postseason. Playoff basketball is different than season ball in so many ways.

With all we have hanging in the balance (Hill, Hayward contracts and Burks, Favors futures), why wouldnt we play AB, Lyles and Exum? Last night was a night perfect for testing out guys with zero playoff experience. For all we know, Lyles might have hit that extra gear he hit with Kentucky in that March Madness run. Or Exum emerges as an extremely valuable piece to our puzzle.

Yeah, I counted at least 6 buckets and at least 6 rebounds by LAC that never would have happened with Gobert on the court.

Easily enough to swing the outcome.
 
I thought this was an interesting headline:

"LAC overcame one-sided officiating and cold three-point shooting to take game 2"


Good to know Jazz fans are not the only ones guilty of watching games with fan goggles on.

I wonder if Dante and Trey could handle how physical it was and I could totally see Burks trying to do too much and jacking himself up. Jordan was beasting, Withey was like a fly landing on him.
 
I didnt see it, did the TNT crew give the Jazz any respect post-game? Or are they acting like we don't have a chance? I've gone from thinking we might lose this series even with Rudy to thinking we would get crushed without him to thinking we will win game three without him and possibly the series even if he doesn't come back. That was the best LA will play this whole series, IMO.
 
The rim-protection last night was abysmal. If this is what Favors looks like at "100%", then I'm done with him.

The team looked half-asleep and half-scared. It's amazing to me that the game was that close. This is a game that a low-talent spark plug would've been useful. I don't know if Bolomboy or the carcass of Alec Burks would've been a net-negative, but it feels like it might've been worth a shot. I don't know, but we know what a team without Rudy actually looks like and I was not impressed.

Clippers are squeezing the Jazz offense and the slowdown offense of the Jazz allows Paul out front and Mbah Boute at the wing and Jordan down low to set up.That's OK if Jazz can do the same with Gobert anchoring the Jazz defense.Clippers owned the paint and Favors barely slowed them down.Jazz can't be weak in the middle of the paint and expect to win this series.Quin Snyder is trying to win on defense ALONE while their Defensive Player of the Year is out injured.
I think Jazz need Exum,Burks,Hood ,JJ,Withey playing the 2nd unit ,Jazz need the change of pace and hopefully generate more offense.

He's near the worst in the NBA on isolations and finishing at the rim. The only good thing he's done this year is rebound the hell out of it.

Played pretty good defense too.
But everything else you said is accurate and his rebounding and ok defense is not enough to overcome the negatives.
