What's new

Blake Griffin

Clippers won the game without Griffin and thats true. However Griffin hold them in the game in the first half. Or the difference would be 20 by then. I see us a good chance winning the series now. Just secure the win next game. And Gobert will hopefully be back by 5. We might actually win 3 in a row. We cried oh God we are so unlucky after Gobert got injured. Now God says, guys, dont cry about luck from now on. It is your work now, just go out and play and win the series.

clippers are better without em.

No way. Griffin may be a defensive liability and his solid scoring skills aside, he's also a very good passer for a PF. Without him I expect to see a lot of Snyder adjustments, as I'm hoping the Clippers offense will slow down and have a tougher time scoring easy baskets.

I'm wondering if they move LMAM to PF or play Speights there.

Tough luck. I hope he recovers well. Injuries always suck. I wish there was a chance that we could compete with full health on both sides. ( here is a tip: we'd win easily ;) )

The way we defended it last night all they have to do is run the CP3/DJ 2-man game and they will win handily.

CP3 will not be allowed to coast for 3 quarters with Blake down. That is good news for us. Griffin faded in the 4th right when CP3 starts stepping up. Him going down when he did was not that big of deal because he has been fading by that point anyways and that is when CP3 steps up and tries to take over. Our hope is that CP3 (like Hayward has been) has to play all out the entire game and is very fatigued by the end of the 4th. If his legs are shot he is much less likely to hit jump shots and be able to drive hard.

The x-factor now is Crawford, who has killed us in the past. He was pretty quiet through games 1 and 2 but had a solid impact on offense last night. We just do not have the personnel to defend their back-court effectively.

Not surprising news, IMO, since Griffin seems brittle as glass. The guy has played in only 471 of 640 regular season games so far in his career - which amounts to 73 percent. Favors, for instance, has played in 85 percent of his teams' regular season games.

The thing about Blake is that he's actually had some pretty bad injuries and he's recovered well.. Favors has zero major injuries and plays like he's about 80.

Blake is going to end up in OKC, which sucks. The Northwest is going to be pretty legit next year.

The Clippers aren't better without him but it doesn't change much for us in this series. We are being beaten by the Chris Paul/Deandre Jordan pick and roll show. We have no answer for it and unless Rudy comes back and is somehow at 80% it's going to cook us. maybe Blake being out with help Snyder feel more comfortable playing different bigs besides Diaw and Favors. I guess this helps us if it leads Snyder to drawing up a strategy to stop Deandre.

We still have no answer for them spamming PnR's, and Favors, who has already looked terrible with two days rest, is going to be playing with one. Joe Johnson hasn't been anywhere near as effective all season with one day of rest as opposed to 2+.

We have to win tomorrow but, barring a miracle comeback from Rudy, I'm having a really hard time seeing how.

I dont understand why Jazz dont try and trap CP3 on those deep pick and rolls. Jordan is no threat that far away and we can rotate if he gets anywhere close. Make the rest of their team beat us. Get the ball out of his hands. Make Mbah a Moute beat us with semi open jump shots. I would leave him wide open for threes until he actually hits a few in a row. We need to make CP3 work hard to get open by denying him the ball and then when he does get it trap him early and force the ball out like the Clippers do to Hayward.

The annoying thing is that mbah and griffin have both been hitting their wide open shots.

It is annoying but I think we need to force him to take more shots. He wont keep hitting and if he does then we can readjust but right now I would rather loose to Mbah shooting jump shots than CP3 shooting open shots and easy lobs to DJ.
