What's new

Pay Joe Ingles ,he's a coach on the court and does it all

I think JJ takes a hit for sure. Also older and more injury prone.

My guess is based mostly on that only playoff teams will chase him. Not a high potential young player. Not sure he does a ton to move the needle for a developing team. Not as much money out there and he's still restricted. That said... only takes one ******* and he could get 15M.

I've been fairly close on this stuff but then you see a mozgov and Evan turner deal that no one sees coming. Playoffs do tend to carryover into FA discussions. 10-15 still seems doable on our end.

What teams come for him and what is their cap situation.

But he is worth 15 million, right? I mean, look around the league at players who have bigger contracts: Harrison Barnes, Evan Turner, Allen Crabbe, Chandler Parsons, Ryan Anderson, Luol Deng, Kent Bazemore, DeMarre Carroll.

Those are all dudes who are in the 15-20 million dollar range. Is there anyone on that list who is better than Jingles? Only one is Parsons (when healthy). And most of those are brand new contracts. He is turning 30 this off-season, so that might scare some teams off. Just super interested in who wants him next year. Casual fans are going to freak out when they see his regular season stats compared to how much money he gets.

can probably send a pick and get something done. If he passes a physical, then I think there are more than a couple teams that will take a flyer at his price. But, yeah, he isn't an asset any more.

Hopefully we can sell him to Brooklyn. He'd be a perfect fit in their super fast pace system that doesnt play defense. Would they really say no to him and a 2nd round pick?

Who wants to pay 11 million a year for 2 more years to a guy who just sits on IR? I dont think he will be that easy to trade, unless we are taking back a ****tier contract.

Oh I am sure the Jazz will have to sweeten the pot. But we do have picks over the next couple of years. My point is that the Jazz could make things happen if they needed to.

Yeah, I think I'm now convinced he'd be an easy sell to Brooklyn.

You get rid of Burks and give him Burks money + more if you have to. Ingles has already done more than Burks has and anyone that thinks differently is delusional

Yes, but the cap exploded and he might not be considered better than guys like Barnes (higher ceiling for a younger guy). Not every team has space this year so the market is more constricted. I think Turner and Deng's deals were considered bad from the get go. I think he is most similar to guys like Jared Dudley. Definitely has suitors and will help you win, but not a guy that has "upside" or can be viewed as a cornerstone.

He's worth 15 M but I don't see the team that will give it to him that has cap space. I think Bazemore and Crabbe are good comps, but those guys are younger and came on the market at the right time. Don't think BKN rolls out the brinks truck for him. I think Minny, Indiana, and Chicago are playoff teams with space that might have interest and a need. Not sure any of them want to commit the dollars it would take for the Jazz not to match.

My opinion on Redick has severely lowered after this playoff series. Dude is invisible on the court.

If he's not shooting he's not helping, he doesn't create and he does nothing to help the rest of the team. Also switching on offence at every opportunity and forcing him and Crawford to defend has been a masterstroke. I wonder if JJ gets home and checks under his bed at night in case Joe is under it waiting for him? When Joe signs his new contract he should send him some flowers or card in thanks.

At this point losing Ingles would hurt more than losing Hill.

We are selling Hill short a bit here... he's played well this series and has been important to the team and locker room.

They are also doing a lot of PnR and it isn't like he can run his curl stuff at the same time. He's a spot up guy right now and we aren't leaving him.
