What's new

George Hill OUT tonight

As much as i like Deron Williams, last time i saw him ballin was in Turkey, Besiktas, not even NBA. If Exum gave us any hopes of he would be a solid starter next year, then Deron could come in, tutor the young guy and help the team, but in current situation -if we are shooting for a 55-60 win team next year- certainly we need a better pg than George Hill.

We should test the market. Many free agent pgs this offseason. Lowry, Mills, Collison, D-Rose, Jrue Holiday, and guess what? C.Paul.

Most options better than Hill here.
C.Paul most probably wont end up here.(I m thinking Pelicans will make a push for him.)
I didnt even bother to mention Curry.
Lowry will resign with Toronto i believe.
Mills, Collison are not good enough to push us beyond 50 wins next year.
Jrue Holiday is a solid guy, i like him. Great playmaker. Decent ballhandler, dribbler. But i dont know if he still has some room to grow which we really need to go next level.
D-Rose. He is injury prone. He might not look like a secure pick. But if we wanna take some risk and pay him around 15-16 million a year, he really has good upside when he is healthy. He is the best penetrator in the league after Wall and Westbrook, which we desperately need in this setup.

Some days our offense really get stuck, if the 3s not falling, like 6th game with clippers, we look lost in offense. In such desperate times, we need a good penetrator to get secure baskets or go to free throw line, and open up the space.

Jrue Holiday seems like a good pick here, but D-Rose is the wild pick. If we wanna be a 60 win team, deeper push in playoffs, it is worth taking the risk. Hear me guys, Hill isn't worth more than 10 per year, he just made his peak and wont be better next year plus the injury proneness.
We need a 20-5 or 16-8 guy to start in that spot, unless we will be happy just making the playoffs next year.

This franchise deserves a championship, finals at least after all those years. Time to step up. Lets not be satisfied with 50 win again. Next year western conference gonna be really tough, we need to be even tougher to get 50 win. So lets shoot for the sky. It is the time now.

Hard to believe that Lowry wont consider his options. If I were him I would not want to stay in Toronto

The toe is a recurring injury, it's not a new injury each time. His earlier injury this season was a sprained finger, and I think he had a sprained groin for a few games IIRC. He's not an iron man by any stretch, but he's played through difficult injuries this season. Calling him "soft" seems ill-informed. He's an aging guard putting a lot of miles on his body. That would be my concern. Not the notion that he's somehow a wimp.

yeah he's not a wimp. Like the majority of 30+ year olds in the NBA, his body just can't respond to the wear and tear as well as it used to.

31 more games, for real?! I wouldn't have guessed that. Geez.

yeah people upset about him missing so much time have some validity, though most for the wrong reasons. It's just difficult to lose a cornerstone player for half the season, and the likelihood of him missing significant time seems to be rising.
