Game 2: Utah at Golden State. TONIGHT! 830 ESPN

Kinda sucks that the buzz from game 7 will have dissipated somewhat by the time our guys roll into town. They were truly great in game 7.

Rose is an absolute disaster. He can't hit open 3's, he can't defend, he went AWOL on The Knicks for about 2 days this season after Horny benched him in the 4th period of a close game.

No, no and again no.

With all that disaster in a disasterous team he still made 18-5. Funny isnt it? I wonder what he would do in Jazz system which would capitalize his skills and cover up defensive flaws.

Lets be serious, we cant win a championship with current squad even if they play together 10 years. As good as Hayward and Gobert are, they are nowhere near Lebron, Kawhi, Harden and likes. Hard to be a contender without having a single top 10 player in the league. So we need a third really good player. Hill, even if he is healthy all season, cant give us that lift from being a good team to a contender. In the offseason we should desperately push for him or Jrue Holiday. (since we aren't able to get CP3)

I mostly agree with your post but your first sentence in the second paragraph said: "Lets be serious, we cant win a championship with current squad even if they play together 10 years."

We still have not seen this current squad play together yet. And we still won a game 7 on the road in the 1st round, then played the best team in the league by far close in their homecourt with our starting point guard out, favors barely alive, burks out, and shelvin mack playing 31 minutes.

Call me crazy but a roster with Hayward (who is still getting better btw), gobert (still getting better), hill, hood (should improve still), ingles, healthy favors, JJ, a much improved Exum and Lyles (both are really young and I expect big improvements from both) and maybe something from bolomboy plus we have multiple first round picks in a loaded draft next year.....
I think if the team can be healthy, get some good improvement from lyles and exum, and draft well then we would be championship contenders.
Plus quin is still learning and improving as a head coach.

This team went from 20 wins to 30 wins to 40 wins to 50 wins over the last 4 years and won their first playoff series in a long long time.

Now is not the time to freak out and panic. If the jazz can keep this roster together and draft well and have a bit of improvement from guys that should be expected to improve then I believe we would be contenders

We have an athletic beast just sitting on the bench in warm up clothes.

Who? Favors?
We need more of a Burks with consistency, balance and decision making or Exum with ballhandling and finishing skills. Gobert's athleticism enough for the front.

That 22% from 3 scares me though.
Plus his assists were closer to 4 than 5. And 2.3 turnovers per game to his 4.4 assists isn't the greatest ratio. Plus he gets hurt a lot (hasn't played a full season since 2010.... 39 games, zero games, 10 games, 51 games, 66 games, 64 games over the last 6 seasons) and I don't think adding another injury prone dude is the best idea for this particular team.

And we still won a game 7 on the road in the 1st round,

We shouldnt have the series slip to 7th game at all. And even in 5th game, we could have won with double digits easily. We just dont have the firepower, that strong punch right now which is certainly needed to contend for championship. One good tweak in the lineup could make this team a 60 win contender. Not favorite for championship like GSW but contender and thats what we all want. And that tweak is finding an explosive guy who can score and make others play. Not Westbrook but John Wall type of player. Since we cant get Wall, D-Rose seems like the only close player who will go FA this offseason. Maybe im wrong but he is the best option for PG i feel.

No. Favors played. He wasn't in warmups all game on the bench. Guess again.

Silly thing to say. They were the higher seed. We were the underdogs bro. We had never been in the playoffs before. Your expectations were way to high apparently.

I know, it is something to consider his injury history. But if he was healthy in last seasons and could chuck up the threes, he was in mvp talks near harden and westbrook now. So it is a wild call and a risky move. I just think he as too much upside comparing to his weaknesses and we dont need to spend 20+ m p/year to get him.

If Rodney and Lyles show improvement his 3 flaw will not be that important i think.
Think like this, if he is healthy we will be contender, if not we will not be worse than this year. I would take the call, but i dont think our GM would make such risky moves.

They were the underdogs for me after Griffin got injured. The day he was injured i told myself we will win this in 6.
And we were the much better team on court in those 4 games after his injury but 5th game. So my expectation to beat Clippers who couldnt even beat Gobertless Utah wasn't so high.
