Zach Lowe: Paul George would love to play with Gordon Hayward

I think I would rather have Love than PG. The security of 3 years is just preferable to me than swinging for the fences in a single year. I think the most likely scenario is the Jazz lose to the GSW in 6 in the conference finals then PG leaves. Hayward most likely just signed a 1+1 knowing of PG's desire to join the Lakers. Upon George leaving Hayward is faced with the harsh reality the Jazz lost to the GSW even with Paul George, now that George has left the situation in Utah seems bleak.

It's not 3 years. It's 2.

The thing is that the Jazz have to find a way to get another star. It's going to take risk, but this is the type of move that the franchise has to make in order to contend. We simply can't pay everyone, so we HAVE to swing for the fences with a deal like this.

Honestly, I think I'm on this mindset as well. Though I don't think it should or would take Favors, Hood and MULTIPLE firsts. Is that what people are saying? I skipped to the end.

The other option is just trade a few pieces and get Donovan Mitchell and, bam, 3rd superstar. I guess PG is a decent 2nd choice.

With Gobert, Hayward and George, Utah can have an outside shot at GS.

With Gobert, Hayward and Love, Utah is really good but would have the same result as this year, i.e. getting swept by GS every year.

PG gives Utah a shot at pushing GS.

Give me a shot at greatness.
