What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Hood is a good player but he is the one guy on the team who doesn't play Jazz ball, well him and Burks. They can go play with Carmelo and see what it's like.

Lyles and 24 enough to get into the lottery?

I really don't care what they do, as long as it doesn't involve helping other teams get better by taking on bad contracts.

Lyles + 24 would probably get #18 from Indiana, maybe a bit more. I think the Jazz might make that move for John Collins personally. I don't like how Lyles checked out last season.

Look for a team in a tight cap situation that could really make use of the Diaw deal and Utah's remaining cap space from last year -- e.g., Detroit and Charlotte. Sacramento might also play ball with their second lottery pick.

I think our targets would be Mitchell, one of the Collins, or maybe Kennard. I think the Jazz would also take Monk or Dennis Smith if they could get their hands on one of them somehow.

Shooting wise Lydon seems like a perfect fit with Gobert. I usually don't like using the college 3 as an NBA predictor, but wow perfect form on his jump shot (unlike Lyles). He should be a reliable 40% NBA 3 point shooter.

Brooklyn is still very much in the running. No rule against starting two combo guards.

I think this kind of solidifies their plan to take on unwanted players in exchange for draft picks and young players. Signing Hill to a 25mil/year deal wouldn't be conducive to that plan.
