Woj: Celtics working to land both Gordon Hayward and Paul George

I can't remember if PG13 gives up any chance at the designated player extension by leaving indy ?? If so there's no way in hell he's going to then give a further discount ....

AND .. has nobody mentioned IT's hip issue ??? apparently it's going to be re-evaluated in August ... that sounds like a potentially bigger issue than George Hills camel toe

Say what, Paul George has a Vajee?

The IT thing is very curious to me.

You do know that not every player develops properly, right? There is zero evidence whatsoever that Exum will become a solid starter in the league, that doesn't sound like 'floor' to me.

All we really know is that he is young and athletic. That's all he has shown us.

lol ok what do you think the chances are that he doesn't develop one iota ? All you're going by is what he's done so far. He's 21 with f all experience and has had an ACL ...

he's saying that if you go by what he'd done so far (which is all the evidence we have available to us!), then you can define his floor. This isn't difficult for anyone who doesn't have homer goggles on.

The probabilities are in favor of Exum getting better. But, there's always the chance that what he does in the offseason doesn't translate. When you consider these things, you have to use the latter in discussions of his floor. Simple.

Nobody knows what Exum will be. I'm pretty confident he won't be playing off ball and staying in the corner for an entire possession, as he did last year, for his entire career.

Exum's ability was not utilized in the offense much last year. And I understand why, he wasn't ready, he hasn't shown the strength to finish and the handle to be the lead ball handler for an entire game. This stuff can, and should be expected to improve and he can have more of a lead guard role and really show his ability. I will say, I know it's one possession, but I'm not sure if anybody burned Klay in the playoffs as bad as Exum did in game 4 on his crossover drive dunk.

I'm not even an Exum hater, I'm optimistic. But we have to look at this rationally.

That's why I have a hard time figuring out what I want at the PG position. I'd love to give Exum a chance with 20 mpg. I'd hate if blows that chance and we have nothing behind him.

It's a tough situation.

What I can't do is say that given time he will absolutely be a good player. That is completely illogical. No one can possibly know that.

Completely rational. But I think it's important to know it's not like he has presented with all this opportunity to break out. We weren't in a position to let Exum get shots and create, whether that meant succeeding or failing. A lot of possessions he played off ball and literally never crossed the 3 point line.

I'm sure his Nike deal has built in provisions about playing in big markets vs small markets. Since he has his own signature shoe, I would bet he gets paid a significant amount of money to play in LA or Boston compared to Utah.

Because America would forget who Paul George was if he was playing on a top 3 NBA team in Utah. . .

Homers say he gets way better than 20 miles per gallon.... even though we've never seen evidence of that.
