No cap room at present, even deducting Hill and Hayward. Not sure exactly when Ingles' new deal counts. My guess is Utah won't submit it until they're done with other moves to allow themselves some room. Jazz can probably get to ~$89M by renouncing Mack, Withey and their exceptions and declining the option on Diaw. So $10M to spend. But that's not a whole lot of difference than just keeping their MLE available.

It really sucks to lose a high-priced FA. That's one thing I hate about the cap. IMO, when you lose a player like Hayward, you should have the equivalent of a TPE so you can use that same amount to sign a replacement.

The Jazz could have made plans with Gallo in the case of a Haywar fallout. You just have to face the fact that most FA's will take getting paid in LA over getting paid in Utah.

Most players aren't going to sit around and be Plan B. They want make sure they get a good contract. So Gallinari holds out until Hayward makes a decision. Hayward returns to Utah and suddenly Gallinari is back on the market when other teams may have signed SF's because they didn't want to wait around for Danilo to decide.
