Hayward to Boston

I don't feel this way about him. I understand the comparison of how Rudy and Gordon are but I think that is just different personalities.

I saw Gordon give his all on the court, yeah he's competitive and it's probably his nature but I think he cared about the organization and helping his team.

An opportunity was opened up to him to play with one of his mentors in Brad Stevens and to also go to a different opportunity with more exposure.

I don't think this has anything to do with him not being committed to the Jazz while he was here.

Hes 27... he would have had plenty of time to team.up with Stevens.

The hardest part of all this is knowing we were just scratching the surface of our potential. ****, I would have been happy with a 1+1, I just wanted to see what we were capable of then he could still have teamed up with his bumchum when they had a more developed list.

Hayward dogged us in so many ways;

Dragging this out so all FA options are gone
Signing Rubio
Overpaying Ingles
Trading our lottery pick for a 49 game rental to appease him
Losing a year of Exum because we were in 'win' now mode to appease him.
Having to watch 18months of Mack.
Knew he was leaving but didn't tell us and we get nothing in return.

Ive never been more wrong about an athlete. Dude is a straight up fraud.

Basically his loyalty was his college coach over us. His love affair with Brad overpowered all the support from the fans, players, and coaches here.

He just wasnt feeling it (us) anymore.

I heard Stevens was really hard on him, that Haywood likes the tough love.

In that regard, I thought the Jazz mismanaged Haywood from the beginning. Other players had to earn time, it was given to Hayward. If the offense didn't work for Hayward, they changed the offense. If the team played better with another player, the jazz moved the other player. If Quin wants to push the pace, but Hayward likes it slow and steady, the Jazz played slow and steady. If Hayward likes Jeremy Evans, the jazz kept a non-nba player on the roster.

I hadn't thought of that. It looks like the "It's about me" tour has helped Goldie make some new friends. Haynes and Amick will for sure remember how that went down. And so will Woj, and espn, when they realize the player lied to them just so he could "break the news" on the competitions web page.

Trashing relationships with at least three national writers is a great way to start out in Boston.

Add them to the pile of people Goldie ran over on his way out.
Excellent point. Lost in all this is that Mark Bartlestein lied to Woj so that Hayward could have some extra hours to write his article. Or it sure seems that way. When was the last time an agent lied to Woj???

I understand being angry and disappointed.

Some of these comments though.

Seriously ?

I hope you guys are just playing around.

Just blowing off some steam guy. We're sports fans.

Can we switch the title of the thread to just Hayward to Boston? I don't know about anybody else but "Thank you, Utah" makes me sick to my stomach everytime I see it. Especially with how everything was handled by Hayward yesterday.

Judging by this he's still puckering

It's true. He is sincere that Boston is a winning culture and Utah isn't, that Boston has a special history and Utah doesn't, that there is an amazing potential of the current Celtic team and there isn't one for the Jazz, and how Stevens is a great coach in Quin is a hack. Very sincere.
