Of investing time and emotion into watching businessmen executing business transactions? Because those millionaires can jump around really well and put a rubber ball through a steel circle?

I'm starting to wonder if it is time for me to move on from sports.

I think it's a captivating sport featuring the best athletes this world has to offer. I love the ups and downs of being a fan, the excitement and fear of it.

Plus I really enjoy betting on the NBA.

Stop worrying about the business side and focus on the game.

Don't give up yet. This season has the potential to be much better than people are assuming right now. If it's not and DL goes until full rebuild, then you can take a few years off and hope it doesn't take as long to get back to the playoffs.

Right now I'll just bet we do better than most people think we will. Gobert is a beast and we have other players that can make up for some of what we lost in Haywood.

Honestly though, any of us who spend a lot of time here would probably be better off using out time to do something more productive.

Have to agree. Another note: I'll take a while off from Jazzfanz and when I come back everyone seems a little too fanatical and speaking crazy. A week back in and suddenly those thoughts disappear...and my BP numbers are higher

Coming from the guy preaching mediocrity is fine and to enjoy the ride of a semi-successful season???

I have to say though, I think I love the characters/people here more than the actual Jazz

One spectacular pass from Rubio to Rudy is all it takes to remember why you became a sports fan. Life goes on. Players come and go but the Jazz will remain. I already can't wait to see Donovan tonight. He is part of the future, the past is history so buck-up and enjoy these moments. They don't last forever.

We're in an awkward place. Gobert and Rubio in their prime, and everyone else is either too young or too old. I hope we can get Crowder and stay competitive until Mitchell and/or Exum develops and bump us into relevance. But I am fearful of the future, and I can't handle another decade of rebuilding that may turn out the same way.

All that currently sustains my interest in the NBA is my burning hatred for Haywood and the Celtics.

I've often wondered why I get so emotionally invested in sports. None of the teams I support ever win anything, and yet my love for them only grows and grows. Perhaps I am a glutton for suffering, perhaps it's the sliver of hope that one day I will get to experience that championship moment, perhaps I'm using it to escape from other parts of my life.

In the end, I know sports brings a lot of real emotion to my life which I rarely get elsewhere, both positive and negative, and I'm grateful for both, so I just let it be.
